Tara: Overall, I really enjoyed this one! Dahlia and London were such wonderful characters, and I’m a big fan of cooking shows, so I know I’ll be reading Love and Other Disasters again. I’ll just be sure to stock snacks next time, because reading about so much amazing food made me hungry.
Carrie: I was delighted with this book overall. The supporting characters were fun (or loathsome, as the plot demanded). The character development was realistic and powerful. The romance was sexy and I can totally picture Dahlia and London as an old couple on a porch somewhere — I was invested in them for the long haul. This will be one of my comfort re-reads for sure!
To Beguile a Beast by Elizabeth Hoyt is $1.99! This is book three in the Legend of the Four Soldiers series. There is definitely a Beauty and the Beast element here. Have you read this series?
Sweetest Scoundrel by Elizabeth Hoyt is $1.99! This is book nine in the Maiden Lane series, which is a favorite with many romance readers. Elyse was pretty excited about this release last November. We ran two guest reviews during out RITA® Reader Challenge (RIP). It earned a B and a C+.
Loving You Always by Kennedy Ryan is $1.99! This is book two in The Bennett Series. This was released in 2014, but I believe is having a resurgence from the publisher due to new cover designs.
Welcome back to Hide Your Wallet! We are settling into the slow releases of December. As a reminder, we are combing release weeks next week for books coming out on the 17th and 24th. The week of Christmas is typically reserved for our “Best Of” content, which I always love putting together. What releases are on your TBR pile this week? Let us know in the comments!
Fangirl Down by Tessa Bailey is $1.99! This is book one in the Big Shots series and features a golfer, which we don’t often see in sports romance. I think I remember Elyse reading and liking this one (Elyse, please correct me if I’m wrong!). Apologies if this is an expiring KDD.
All the Right Notes by Dominic Lim is $2.99! Dahlia mentioned this one in her monthly queer romances column. It was also Lim’s debut and I’ve heard good things about it.
In Episode 606. Behind the Scenes of Classic Cover Art: Shirley Green and Sharon Spiak, I learned about the behind-the-scenes process of creating some of the romance covers I know very well. It was a fascinating conversation, and if you’re at all interested, there’s a transcript as well as a few pictures in the show notes. I also did a bonus episode video for the members of the podcast Patreon sharing images that Sharon and … Continue reading Vintage Cover Art Behind the Scenes with Sharon Spiak and Shirley Green→

RECOMMENDED: Rosaline Palmer Takes the Cake by Alexis Hall is $1.99 and a Kindle Daily Deal! Carrie and I jointly reviewed this one and agreed on a B+. As a bisexual woman, I definitely felt seen by this book and I’m here for all the baking romance reads.
