Family Jewels is a mystery that features two best friends who own a landscaping/ plant nursery business and also solve mysteries. It’s the first in a new series, an offshoot of the Rose Gardner mystery series, but you don’t have to have read the previous series to enjoy this book. I, for one, love Callihan’s writing, and the previous book in the series, The Game Plan, is one of my favorites. However, reviewers say the second half of this one is full of lots of drama and angst.

RECOMMENDED: It Happened One Wedding Sarah really enjoyed this book and gave it an A- by Julie James is $1.99! . She felt the ending was a bit abrupt, but that seemed to be her only complaint. She also really loved the heroine:
I love the heroine, Sidney, because she is strong, she is confident, and she is competent, and she knows all those things about herself. Moreover, even though she went through a humiliating breakup that crumpled her a bit, she’s determined to start over, and find someone right for her. And she never entertains the idea that she’s doing it wrong, or that she shouldn’t be openly pursuing the possibility of a long term relationship.

Only You by Denise Grover Swank is 99c! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and is being price-matched elsewhere. Elyse wrote a Lightning Review of this one and gave it a C-, citing there were some major boundary issues. But she also realized this romance might appeal to others:
There’s a lot of reasons why readers will like this book. The romance is hot and funny, there’s a ton of home renovation/HGTV pr0n, and Kevin adopts a tiny kitten he finds. Plus the relationship between Holly and her grandma, and the subject of dealing with dementia, was genuine and well-done.
