Welcome back to Wednesday Links, everyone! Today is moving day for me! Can’t wait for a bigger place to entertain friends (and also get back to our in-person D&D session). In terms of video games, I picked up Kena: Bridge of Spirits a week or so ago and really enjoy it. Definitely tough at some spots, but you can give your little friends different hats to wear. I am also pleased to announce that February is … Continue reading Links: Fran Fine, Cocktails, & More→
Happy Wednesday, y’all! Also, happy Pride! As a bi/pan woman, giving support and hugs (if you want them) to all my fellow queer folk this month especially. It’s been a rough 2022 for LGBTQ+ people and I hope this Pride can be as restorative and healing as it can be celebratory. Please know that you are valued, loved, and treasured. It also wouldn’t be a Links post if I didn’t complain about the New England … Continue reading Links: Upcoming Romance, Darcy, & More→
When I saw Pride, Prejudice, and Other Flavors announced, I knew I had to do a cocktail post for it. I’ve done one for a previous Sonali Dev release and it was incredibly yummy. Dev’s books always seem to have delicious food elements, which serve as wonderful inspiration. The cover is beautiful with its rich red and yellow color combo, and I wanted to mirror that in the drink’s look. Pomegranate juice adds a lovely … Continue reading Covers & Cocktails: Fools in Love→
One of the great things about writing the Covers & Cocktails feature is discovering new drinks I’ve never had before and trying to recreate them. This is one of those drinks! The inspiration this month comes from Nightchaser by Amanda Bouchet, one of my most anticipated releases for 2019. I am totally here for more sci-fi romance, and I loved the blend of purples and blues on the cover. Nightchaser is described as “Star Wars meets … Continue reading Covers & Cocktails Giveaway: The Enhancer→
Hey there! It’s Wednesday Links! I’m not sure about you, but December feels like it’s speeding by. I’m not ready to start my holiday traveling yet. However, I have set aside a select choice of travel books. It was tough narrowing my TBR down! … The hosts of the true crime podcast My Favorite Murder have launched their own podcast network. While I’m excited to see them grow, I’m a little disappoint at the show … Continue reading Links: Short Stories, Cocktails, & More→
It’s the end of March and I’m crossing my fingers the Northeast doesn’t get any surprise snow, because I am over it. But today is a gorgeous, sunny day with a little bit of a nip in the air. It’s the perfect weather to make a stiff drink at 11am and take some book photos. What? You mean you don’t do that on Thursday mornings? Just me? This month’s inspiration comes from Eva Leigh’s Counting … Continue reading Covers & Cocktails: The Pleasure Garden→
It’s cocktail time! And this time, I’ve mutated one of my favorite drinks into something dark and sharp. Which is perfect for the release of Megan Erickson’s Zero Hour. Let’s get into it, as I’m hopped up on sugar from devouring an entire box of Girl Scout cookies for breakfast, and then making a cocktail at 11am. Zero Hour is a romantic suspense novel and the first book in a brand new series. It was … Continue reading Covers & Cocktails: Firewall→
It’s the last Wednesday in March and I am stunned that we’re heading into April. Then again, I feel like I mention the crazy passing of time almost in every Links post. We hope you’re having a great week! … The Romantic Novelists’ Association has announced the winners of their 2017 Romance Novel of the Year. Think of the award like the RITAs, but for UK authors. It’s also a good way to find some … Continue reading Links: Cocktails, Stats, & Award Winners→
Happy 2017! While I celebrated the new year surrounded by new friends, good food, and a bit of love, I was also pretty sick. The sickness, nearly two weeks later, is still holding on and I’m onto the mucous-laden stage, where a glob will surprise me mid-sentence. So I’m being selfish and making a hot, alcoholic drink with all sorts of goodies to soothe my throat and keep me warm! As a side note, I’m … Continue reading Covers & Cocktails: Frost’s Thaw→
Happy Wednesday! Can you believe it’s June? How are we halfway into 2016 already? First, I’d like to give a big, huge thank you to the romance community. It’s been about a week since Redheadedgirl and Sassy teamed up to start a GoFundMe, and over $7000 has been raised! So thank you to those who have donated, those who have shared the GoFundMe page, those of you who have sent positive vibes and prayers. Seriously, all … Continue reading Links: Color Palettes, Knitting, & Cocktails!→
I think I can safely (and finally) say that Boston has been released from the unrelenting grip of winter. Unfortunately, my allergies are in full effect and I often wake up in the morning surrounded by wads of tissues. So despite the lovely, sunny weather we’re having in New England right now, I am inside with the windows shut and my system pumped full of allergy meds. Thankfully, I have plenty of books to keep … Continue reading Covers & Cocktails Giveaway: Sweet Hot Chris→
