I’m so excited for today’s Cover Snark. The mullet has made a triumphant return, but did it ever really leave in the first place? Amanda: IN THE YEAR OF OUR LORD 2019 WE HAVE A MULLET COVER Elyse: I’m assuming the title is a direct reference to his hair. Amanda: HA! Elyse: But that is not a good situation at all. Sarah: Definitely a description of the hairstyle. Carrie: Dirt is not sexy. Sarah: Maybe … Continue reading Cover Snark: Return of the Mullet →
From Lukov with Love by Mariana Zapata is $2.99 at Amazon! This romance was recommended in our recent Winter Olympics Rec League and Zapata is an auto-buy for many of you. This is a slow burn romance (like many of Zapata’s romances), but some found it too slow. Have you read this yet?

The Match of the Century by Cathy Maxwell is $2.99! The heroine is betrothed to the hero’s brother, so there’s an element of a forbidden relationship happening. Readers recommend Maxwell’s writing if you like your historical romances on the lighter side. However, many felt bad for the heroine’s groom, as he was a pretty standup guy.

RECOMMENDED: Rogue Desire is $2.99! The follow up anthology, Rogue Affair, is also on sale for only 99c! This is a romance anthology, which Redheadedgirl reviewed and gave it a B+:
It’s a wide variety of stories with one commonality: that even when the world seems like it might crash down, love is still there, and there’s a happily ever after out there. We just have to fight for it.

Fairest of Them All made me mad. So, so mad. Mad like: The thing was, the book was not what I was expecting and the hero was not the right guy, IMO. Charlene Blanchard is penniless noblewoman who has taken to disgusting herself as a boy and pick-pocketing in order to support herself and her aunt. One day Charlene learns that the Duke of Baynton is looking for a wife. The duke, Gavin, is very wealthy … Continue reading Fairest of Them All by Cathy Maxwell →
Blame It on Bath by Caroline Linden is $3.99! This is a historical romance with a bit of a marriage of convenience trope. While readers seemed to love the chemistry between the hero and heroine of the book, they wished that more of the book went toward solving the mystery of the plot. It has a 3.8-star rating on Goodreads.

The Rogue by Katharine Ashe is available for preorder for $1.99! This is a first book in a new historical romance series that comes out in February. This seems to have a lot of catnip: a second chance romance, a scarred hero, and a marriage of convenience. Any takers? There are also several other Ashe titles also on sale!

RECOMMENDED: Dark Skye by Kresley Cole is $1.99! This means we’re officially caught up on the cover redesigns. This is a paranormal romance and my favorite of the series. I waited ages for Thronos and Lanthe’s story and I wound up giving the book an A- grade:
The book was worth the wait. Truly. The themes of religion fit nicely into the character differences and I was really pulling for Lanthe and Thronos to make important compromises for the benefit of their relationship. I also thought it was a nice touch that Lanthe’s abilities grew more powerful and she became more confident in using them when she was around Thronos, a sign that being with the right person can make you stronger.
