I loved this book for its lovely use of language, its focus on the problems of both the lower and upper classes, the incredibly likeable characters, and the affirming, sexy, sweet romance.
Just the Thing by Marie Harte is 99c! This is the second book in The Donnigans contemporary romance series and features a no strings attached arrangement. Readers say this is an emotional romance with a great happily ever after. However, some found the hero to be rather immature for someone in his thirties.
What a Gentleman Wants by Caroline Linden is $1.99! This is the first book in the Reece Family Trilogy. You can also nab the second book for 99c. There’s a fake relationship element to this historical romance and readers loved the stuffy hero. However, some readers felt the plot is a bit unbelievable. It has a 3.7-star rating on Goodreads.
Scoundrels of Summer is 99c! This is a historical romance anthology from four well-known romance authors. And…one of the stories is inspired by Beyoncé lyrics. I believe both the Linden and Ashe stories have been available previously, so if you’ve read those, that makes only two new romances in the collection.
Dressed to Kiss is $2.99! This is an anthology featuring romances by Madeline Hunter, Caroline Linden, Megan Frampton, and Myretta Robens. Readers love that all four stories have a common connection and seems to be rather well-received on Goodreads.

Theresa Romain basically created a series just for me, and the first full-length book just confirms it. She reached into my head and found the references and plot that would make me happiest, and gave those thoughts a beautiful cover and said, “Here!”

Linden never, ever skimps on the communication aspect, especially when she’s worked a Big Misunderstanding into the plot. And this Big Misunderstanding is pretty freakin’ big – James thought there was time before they needed to get married, Olivia thought James had left her, and the ramifications of not using all of their words are huge. (Mostly this is on James’ head – he’s a dude, so in this scenario he has all the power.) It takes time and communication to sort through the mess before they can even begin to contemplate a HEA.
Bittersweet by Sarina Bowen is 99c at Amazon! It doesn’t seem to be a Kindle Daily Deal, so hopefully it’ll start being price-matched. I’ve heard great things about this book and it has a 4.1-star rating on Goodreads. Readers loved the writing and sense of place created, but others found there to be too much farm talk and a lackluster romance. Have you read this one?

This had so much going for it. Just barely pre-Victorian/tail end of the Georgian era! Non-nobles! Slums! Delightful references to the Disney animated B&B! Other references to La Belle et La Bete! Turning other references on their heads! An exploration of where the line between “victim” and “survivor” is!
I’ve enjoyed Ms. Linden’s Scandals series, but had fallen behind. Despite being a modest 176 pages, this short novel is a complete story and has inspired me to pick up the last volume in the series.
