GUEST RECOMMENDED: A Scot to the Heart by Caroline Linden is $1.99! This one earned a B grade from guest reviewer Morgan:
A Scot to the Heart is a solid book. The house party alone makes it well worth reading. You’ll likely love these characters as much as I did.

RECOMMENDED: A Stitch in Time by Kelley Armstrong is 99c! Ellen read this one and gave it a B:
If you like time travel or gothic romance I think there’s a lot to like here. However, gothic romance fans should note that romance itself is fairly sweet and light and the gothic elements are more embedded in the various ghost and murder subplots.

This guest review is from Morgan Grantwood. Morgan is an aspiring novelist with a Regency series about bluestockings in the works and degrees in English and History. But her day job, where she writes millions of words per year, sometimes gets in her way. So she reads and reviews other people’s books instead. … Do you ever read one of those books where you admire and respect the narrative choices, but those same choices leave … Continue reading A Scot to the Heart by Caroline Linden →

It’s a must-read for the summer if you’re looking for an adorable, empathetic, and joyful romance.

RECOMMENDED: Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly is $1.99! Carrie did a Lightning Review of it, and she gave it an A:
This is a gripping read that keeps its focus on the intelligence and perseverance of the women who helped win the war and who made space flight possible. Its only flaw is that it’s so admiring of the women in question that it never presents them as having any imperfections. Otherwise, this is an entertaining and fascinating look at American history and the overlooked women of color who were a crucial part of it.

Stripped by Zoey Castile is $1.99! This is the first book in the Happy Endings series. I read this one and gave it a B grade:
Stripped is an uncomplicated romance between two goofy, sexy people. It has a sweetness to it that’s reminiscent of a contemporary friends to lovers trope. If that hits all of your buttons, do read this!

The Girl Next Door by Chelsea M. Cameron is $1.99! Tara and Shana wrote a joint review for this one back in May and gave it a B-:
Shana: I would give this a B-. I loved the wholesome sweetness of the love story. I was rooting hard for Iris and Jude, but the low-conflict storyline left me wanting a little more angst and a lot more plot. This reminded me of a Hallmark Channel movie with girl sex.

RECOMMENDED: Race the Sands by Sarah Beth Durst is $2.99 and part of today’s Kindle Daily Deals! Ellen really enjoyed this one and gave it a B+:
I found the premise intriguing and the world-building richly rendered. I loved the characters and relationships. The plot was tight and the emotional beats hit hard. If you love unusual heroines, sports narratives, explorations of morality, monster stories, and/or standalone fantasy novels, this book has something for you.
