The Enchantress of Numbers by Jennifer Chiaverini is $1.99! Carrie read this nonfiction book and gave it a B:
As far as I can tell, it’s quite faithful to the events of Ada’s life and the relationship between her and her mother. However, as the book progresses, it starts to skim over her vices and dwell on Ada as a good wife and mother who wants to do math but also do her motherly duties. The story ends with nice emotional resolutions, but for those who are familiar with her whole biography it cuts off suddenly.

Addicted to the Duke by Bronwen Evans is $1.99! This historical romance is the first book in the Imperfect Lords series. It has a road trip element, but they hero and heroine are on the sea, so…an ocean trip. The heroine was captured by a Turkish pirate previously, which some readers weren’t too thrilled about, while others loved the blend of action and romance.

Damsel in Distress by Heather Graham is $2.99! This historical romance has a heroine who is a maiden by day, and a bandit by night. This is a reprint of the same book under Graham’s other pen name, Shannon Drake, just in case the book sounded familiar to anyone. Some readers though there was way too much going on, while others loved the sense of adventure.

A Night to Surrender by Tessa Dare is $2.99! This is the first book in the much loved Spindle Cove series. Sarah has really enjoyed this series (though she says this one was her least favorite of the books). She also says the setting is wonderful and the characters, especially the women, are fantastic. Behind a Lady’s Smile by Jane Goodger is 99c! I’m completely in love with this cover. I’m also not a huge historical romance reader, but the description has me considering a purchase. If you’re on the fence about this book, here’s a Goodreads review that made my morning:
Crass language and explicit scenes make this book, and author, a no-go for me. I prefer the regency/western genres to be clean and perchance a bit more romanticized. Gentlemen should be just that, gentlemen. And the women should be ladies worth waiting for. Nothing wrong with embracing chivalry and good old fashioned morals.

Shrill by Lindy West is $2.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and is being price-matched. I also encourage you to check out the rest of today’s deals too. The book does deal with Lindy’s experience with eating, rape culture, and internet trolls, so there’s some pretty heavy stuff. It has a 4.2-star rating on Goodreads.

The Pages of the Mind by Jeffe Kennedy is $2.99! This is a fantasy romance with an arranged marriage. Readers loved the scholarly heroine, but found that the second half of the book had a very different feel than the first half. It has a 3.9-star rating on Goodreads. I will also mention that this was one of the reader recommended books from our Reader Rec Party at RT yesterday!
