Set in the London publishing world in the mid 19th century, this is an angsty read with working-class characters. There’s a lot about writing, publishing and literacy that were extra treats for me!
The Bride Goes Rogue by Joanna Shupe is $1.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and the third book in the Fifth Avenue Rebels series. I believe it was mentioned on both a Cover Awe and Hide Your Wallet.
The Hellion’s Waltz by Olivia Waite is $1.99! This is part of the Feminine Pursuits series. Carrie read this one and gave it a B-:
I never thought I’d say this, but The Hellion’s Waltz is just too darn nice. This historical f/f romance is beautifully written and full of kind, courageous, intelligent characters. It is also boring.
The Viscount and the Vixen by Lorraine Heath is $1.99! This is book three in The Hellions of Havisham historical romance series. Any fans of the series in the Bitchery or does everything sort of blur together?
RECOMMENDED: Polaris Rising by Jessie Mihalik is $1.99! This is a sci-fi romance and I absolutely loved it. Be warned that it does have a bit of a pushy alpha hero. You can read my A- here:
I am so incredibly happy that this book is in the world, especially after feeling like I’ve exhausted all my sci-fi romance options. Polaris Rising is exciting. It’s funny. It’s fan-fucking-tastic. My quibbles are minor in comparison to the joyful Good Book Noises I made while reading this.
The Unlikely Adventures of the Shergill Sisters is a contemporary novel (not a romance) about three sisters who honor their mother’s last wish by going on a pilgrimage to India.
