This seems to have a lot of catnip: enemies to lovers, meddling family, childhood history, neighbors. However, the book description is rather sparse and I wish there were more explanation on the central conflict.

The romance is between a detective and a politician, and the series follows these two characters. A lot of readers say the pairings reminds them of Eve and Roarke from J.D. Robb’s In Death series. However, some said the book dragged in places.
