October’s New Releases, Part Two

If you’re new to Hide Your Wallet, this is where we list new releases we’re pretty excited for in the coming month. Each reviewer has a book maximum (five per person), but we’ve separated HYW into two parts. The first HYW of the month will cover books that release from the 1st to the 14th. The second HYW will cover books released from the 15th to the end of the month. We also think this … Continue reading October’s New Releases, Part Two

Books on Sale: Beginner’s Guide: Love and Other Chemical Reactions by Six de los Reyes & More

RECOMMENDED: Beginner’s Guide: Love and Other Chemical Reactions by Six de los Reyes is 99c at Amazon! Sarah enjoyed this nerdy romance and gave it a B:

Seriously, if you love science and experiments and science nerdery, you’ll probably really like this book. Much of the story is about Kaya’s journey from accepting herself to appreciating herself, and her growth from keeping a massive distance between her thoughts and her emotions to learning how to relate them to one another, and to take the risks involved in engaging with other people.

It’s the first of the month, which means it’s the perfect time to discuss upcoming book releases! Below are a few titles we at SBTB HQ are excited to see, but here are some more books that might be on your release list: Julia Quinn has a new book out: The Other Miss Bridgerton . Stephanie Plum is still going in Look Alive Twenty-Five . Diamond Fire by Ilona Andrews is a novella in The Hidden Legacy series that is … Continue reading November’s New Releases

Books on Sale: Puddin’ by Julie Murphy & More

Puddin’ by Julie Murphy is $1.99! Not sure if this is a Kindle Daily Deal. I didn’t see it on the list today, but I may have missed it. This is a companion novel to Dumplin’ though it’s not necessary to read that one to enjoy this one. Just be warned that the ending to Dumplin’ might get spoiled. I loved Dumplin’ and am excited to read this one. Murphy has a great way of writing really likable characters.

Books on Sale: More or Less a Marchioness by Anna Bradley & More

More or Less a Marchioness by Anna Bradley is $2.99! This is the first book in the Somerset Sisters series and came out  just last month. Readers warn that it does take a while for the hero and heroine to finally interact, but once they do, it’s a pretty lovely romance.

Cover Awe: Going for Gold

Lady Eleanor's Seventh Suitor by Anna Bradley. Golden lights shine in the background, illuminating a large ballroom. The heroine stands in the center, looking over her shoulder. She's wearing a gorgeous deep pink dress.

We’re back with more Cover Awe, where we discuss covers that make us take notice. This “gold” theme was completely unplanned, but we noticed that several of the covers we were loving at SBTB HQ had golden elements. Amanda: I love the colors on this. Sarah: That is actually glowing. If I had transition lenses, i’d be wearing sunglasses now Elyse: Oh! I love warm colors like this. This makes my eyes so happy. CarrieS: … Continue reading Cover Awe: Going for Gold

February’s New Releases

I thought January would never end! But February is officially here and we have a lot of books to tell you about, mainly because Elyse might go broke with all the preorders she has waiting to come in. While the books below are the ones on our TBR pile, here are a couple more that might pique your interest: Kresley Cole continues her YA series with The Dark Calling . Surprise Me by Sophie Kinsella is about … Continue reading February’s New Releases

Books on Sale: Touch of Red by Laura Griffin & More

Touch of Red by Laura Griffin is $1.99! This is a romantic suspense novel and Elyse gave it a B grade:

If you like a solid mystery/thriller with some hot sex scenes and a romance subplot, then this book should work well for you. If you need your romantic suspense romance-driven, then it might not. I was frustrated with how the element of Brooke’s stalker was handled, but engrossed enough in the larger mystery that it didn’t pull me too far out of the book.
