Deception by Gaslight by Kate Belli is $1.99! This is a historical mystery that I mentioned on a previous Book Beat post. Definitely gives Batman in Gilded Age NYC vibes!

A Distant Heart by Sonali Dev is $2.99! If you listened to our podcast episode with Sonali, she summarizes the book as a Rapunzel retelling set in Mumbai. Hello! Though some readers say this isn’t their favorite romance by Dev, it’s still pretty dang good.

Night Hawk by Beverly Jenkins is $1.99! This is my personal favorite Jenkins, but I realize that it was my first book I read by her and so I have some nostalgia attached to it. Do you have a favorite Jenkins?
The Lady Has a Past is a really strong romantic thriller with mild paranormal elements that delivers on both the thriller and the romantic aspects of the story. Unfortunately, while I thoroughly enjoyed this story while I was reading it, I found myself increasingly troubled by certain aspects of the narrative once I began to reflect on the story in order to write this review. Someday My Duke Will Come by Christina Britton is $1.99 at select vendors! This the second book in the Isle of Synne series and we’ve featured the first book on sale previously. This historical romance features a fake engagement, which can be some major catnip.

RECOMMENDED: Death Below Stairs by Jennifer Ashley is $1.99! It was a previous book club pick and Sarah has great things to say about the series:
I love the whole series and it’s on my short (very short) list of books to give to friends who are grieving. Competence porn, women looking after one another, and a wonderful set of characters. And food porn too. High grade. Proceed with caution if hungry or do yourself a big gifty favor and read with snacks.

Tightrope by Amanda Quick is $1.99! This is a price-matched Kindle Daily Deal, so snag it while you can. This is the third book in the Burning Cove series, which I think Elyse enjoys. I’m pretty certain this can be read out of order, but correct me if I’m wrong.

Time’s Convert by Deborah Harkness is $2.99! Fans of Harkness, please give me clarification. Can this one be read without reading the A Discovery of Witches series? Or is that essential to the story? If it’s the latter, Lara just wrote a great post about why the series is such a favorite for her.

London’s Best Kept Secret by Anabelle Bryant is $1.99! This historical romance is the second book in the Midnight Secrets series and can we get a ruling on whether that’s a mullet on the cover? The hero and heroine are already married in this one, but some readers couldn’t get past the hero’s scheming.
