My Lady Notorious by Jo Beverley is $3.99! This is the first book in the Malloren series and features a heroine who disguises herself as a man. I feel like this is one of those books that readers have really fond memories of reading. Do you? The Beast of Beswick by Amalie Howard is 99c! Catherine reviewed this one and gave it a B-:
I enjoyed the complexity of the characters, and I was especially intrigued by Isobel, whose inner life is so opaque to her sister, and yet clearly quite well-developed. There’s a lot of heat and sensuality in the book, and some lovely moments of humour. These are all really big positives.

Sarah has really enjoyed this series (though she says this one was her least favorite of the books). She also says the setting is wonderful and the characters, especially the women, are fantastic.
