A Princess in Theory by Alyssa Cole is $3.99! This is the first book in her Reluctant Royals series and this seems to be a series that just keeps getting better with its books. Many readers loved how Alyssa writes consent, agency, and all sorts of other awesome and empowering things. However, some warn that this book takes several chapters to get into the swing of things.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: An Extraordinary Union by Alyssa Cole is $1.99! This could expire ASAP. Simply put, GET THIS BOOK. Sarah completely loved it:
First, yes, you should absolutely read this book immediately, if you haven’t already. There is so much happening in the conflict within each of the protagonists, between the protagonists, and around them and their allies and enemies, I can’t possibly discuss all of it, but please know: if you are a reader (and why else would you be here, right?) this book is a marvelous, intelligent, respectful, breathtaking treat for your brain.

It’s Wednesday and September! I’ve had an eventful week so far. Had to get a COVID test to go camping in Maine this weekend. And, this morning, I had a medium session with Carol who was recently on the podcast. It was incredibly cathartic and I would 100% recommend it to anyone. I’m recording a podcast with Sarah on Monday and I’ll probably talk about it a bit more. There’s a high chance I’ll start … Continue reading Links: Tampons, Alyssa Cole, & More →

I should couch this review with the admission that I am the biggest scaredy cat. I don’t usually read romance thrillers, let alone straight ahead thrillers with only a little bit of lovin. Not only do I need to be promised a happy ending, I also want the beginning and middle to be fairly cheerful and absent of conflict. I am, admittedly, a bit ridiculous, but yes, I would prefer to be wrapped up in … Continue reading When No One is Watching by Alyssa Cole →

If you’re new to Hide Your Wallet, this is where we list new releases we’re pretty excited for in the coming month. Each reviewer has a book maximum (five per person), but we’ve separated HYW into two parts. The first HYW of the month will cover books that release from the 1st to the 14th. The second HYW will cover books released from the 15th to the end of the month. We also think this … Continue reading September’s New Releases, Part One →
It’s Wednesday! It’s happening again! Weird, right? In Amanda-town, it’s a cranky week where I frequently make bad sleeping decisions, like staying up past 2am to play video games. It’s like I’m in high school all over again! In more relevant news, I’m planning some awesome virtual romance events that you’ll find out about shortly. … Alisha Rai and her mom watched Indian Matchmaking on Netflix and then wrote about it for O, The Oprah Magazine. … Most … Continue reading Speeches, Laughing Until I Cried, & More →

Someone to Trust by Mary Balogh is $1.99! What perfect timing, as Sarah just interviewed Balogh on the podcast yesterday. This is part of today’s Kindle Daily Deals, which include a lot of romance. I know that for some Balogh is an autobuy author and this one is the fifth book in the Westcott series. Technically this is a holiday romance, if that is or isn’t your thing, but reviews say it isn’t too overtly Christmas-y.

RECOMMENDED: A Hope Divided by Alyssa Cole is $2.99 at select vendors! This is book two in the Loyal League series. Redheadedgirl gave it an A grade:
Cole’s books are always timely, and yet timeless. She has a solid grounding of how to use history in her plots, and knows exactly what story she wants to tell. I could not put this down…
