It’s December! And for us, it’s a pretty small month for new releases for us. I don’t know if our budgets could take another 20+ book month! Besides what we’re excited for, here are some big releases coming out that may be on your buy list: More from J.R. Ward! The second book in her Black Dagger Legacy is out – Blood Vow . Ilona Andrews’ Innkeeper Chronicles continues with the third book, One Fell Sweep . Rules of Contact is book … Continue reading December’s New Releases→
RECOMMENDED: A Duchess in Name by Amanda Weaver is 99c at select vendors! This is a Kindle Daily Deal, so get it while it’s hot! Redheadedgirl reviewed the book and gave it a B+:
This book involves a massive renovation, a HERO that was won in a card game, awkwardness, and learning to love each other despite a most inauspicious beginning. Throw in some terrible parenting, and we got ourselves what could totally be a miniseries jointly produced by ITV and HGTV.
The Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen is $1.99! Several of my friends and colleagues snatched it up when it first came out, and loved it! It’s also pretty gorgeous to look at in person. However, perusing the GR reviews shows that readers either loved it or really hated it. Many had issues with the world-building, though quite a number of readers praised the unconventional heroine. This is also the start of a trilogy. Any interested?
Cold Burn of Magic by Jennifer Estep is $3.99 at Amazon and iBooks! This is a young adult urban fantasy with a heroine who hunts monsters and lives in a library basement (which I would do in a heartbeat). Some readers mentioned that there’s a lot going on in setting up the world, since it’s the first book in a series. Meanwhile, others loved the cast of characters, mainly a cowboy pixie by the name of Oscar. Have you read this one?
RECOMMENDED: A History of Glitter and Blood by Hannah Moskowitz is $2.99! Real talk, this book is weird and though it’s YA, it can get pretty dark in terms of what happens in this fantasy fictional world. It has a bit of a speculative fiction vibe, but it’s definitely a book that will stick with you, even though I know it’s not for everyone. I will also warn that it takes a while to get going.
RECOMMENDED: The Mane Event by Shelly Laurenston is $1.99 at most vendors. This is book 1 in her Pride series, and is a terrific, campy blend of ferocious women, shape shifters, alpha males, and paranormal fun. This book is also two stories in one. Sarah really likes Laurenston’s voice, and find her shifter stories to be a great time when she reads them. They’re very sexy, with a lot of naked time, and a silly sense of humor. Plus some badass heroines!
Hunt the Darkness by Alexandra Ivy is 99c at most vendors! This is number eleven in the Guardians of Eternity paranormal romance series, and it has a vampire hero and a witch heroine. It also has a bit of the enemies to lovers and fated mates tropes in the plot as well. Readers loved the chemistry between the hero and heroine, while others felt the plot lacked any action. It has a 4.3-star rating on Goodreads.
