Shana: Etsy is featuring Black makers this week and I just fell down a jewelry coveting vortex.
Amanda: I saw this thread of Black candle makers and I signed up for every damn newsletter for when they reopen shop. Also, please share your finds, Shana!!
Shana: Mmmm. Candles. Okay, I’m obsessed with these:
Ultrasonic Flight Etched Cutout Earring, $112
Susan: Oh those are BEAUTIFUL.
Shana: And this:
THE CLEOPATRA Coin Pendant, $106
14k Gold Plated Bad Bitch bracelet, $27
Amanda: You have made some excellent jewelry choices.
Sarah: That store is amazing. This necklace!
Intersectional Feminism Nameplate Necklace Gold 18k, $30
Shana: But how does this makes sense with my pj-only lifestyle?
Pretty….
Moss Agate sterling silver pendant necklace, $138
Amanda: look at these cute damn rings
Pink tourmaline sterling silver ring, $45, DidiRose Jewelry
Shana, just switch the pjs for a caftan or a housecoat.
Maya: oh yeah, I bought this brass knuckles-ish amethyst ring and it’s like what do I do with it
Sneezy: You live your best life as an ass beating witch
Sarah: Oooh, look at these!
Vintage Ruby Red Earrings, $38
Amanda: Here are all the candles I’m coveting:
Sweet Life II – Japanese Cherry Blossom Soy Wax Candle, $20+, SimplyGVO
EXHALE THE BULLSHIT Candle, $25, Dorothy B & Co
Sarah: EXHALE BULLSHIT is a mood, yes agreed thank you can confirm.
Amanda: You can customize the scent.
Sarah: I may (read: do) have a soap problem.
Milk & Honey Soap, Nana’s Naturals Shop, $5+
Ellen: my contribution is this truly glorious and glamorous hooded blouse by this Vietnam-based indie designer:
Violet Goblin Princess Hooded Satin Blouse, $93, House of Aris
Since I’ve been getting really into slow fashion + buying less thats more sustainably and ethically made in general I’m thinking about making something by her my birthday present to myself.
Sarah: That style is gorgeous in blue, too!
Susan: My suggestion is Third Vault Yarns! They dye yarn in fandom-inspired colours, and they’re beautiful
Choosing just one colourway, for the record! But I THINK Loading Bar might be my favourite
Ellen: I have a serious yarn problem. every yarn i see i think “ooh, that could make a nice weaving!”
who am i kidding i have a serious craft supply stockpiling problem in general
Susan: I know this problem. Most of my yarn is in a storage unit and I miss it.
OKAY, the Transistor themed yarn is my favourite, but I have too many feelings about Transistor as a game to be able to use it
Shana: Am I allowed to just keep adding to my extensive wishlist? I hope so!
Power Button Zip Pouch, $20, AllVeryGoods
Maya: ohhhhh Philadelphia Printworks always has good stuff!!
Sarah: Mess in a Bottle is a Baltimore-based business that I’ve followed online for a few years now. The selection is more limited and she’s shifted to making masks as well, but I love this shirt, so much:
As Strong as the Woman Next to Me, $27, Mess In a Bottle
Amanda: Oh, and the shop that made the dresses for the Reluctant Royals series, Adorned by Nicole!
Shana: I just bought a beautiful mask from that store! It was this one, in the purple print:
Fitted Face Mask with pocket, $15, Adorned by Nicole
Sarah: Look at these gorgeous vegan cork/leather zip pouches. I want one in every color
Eiras Faux Vegan Cork Leather Case, $15+
How about you?
Got links to items on your wishlist from Black creatives and Black owned businesses? You know we need to make our wishlists as long as our TBRs, right? Please share some links!
First of all, this post did terrible things to my wallet.
I’d like to mention two great Black-owned beauty brands:
Uoma Beauty and Beauty Bakerie. They have some really great products and Uoma, in particular, is know for its wide range of foundations.
I haven’t finished Transistor yet, but it’s so pretty and moody and I love that colorway
Thanks so much – I just bought six masks from Adorned by Nicole – they are gorgeous!
My daughter recently opened an Etsy store for her jewelry under the name DeathbyFashion1984. I am impressed by her work and hope others like it too
@Susan: your daughter’s store is TERRIFIC! Here’s a link, everyone! https://www.etsy.com/shop/DeathbyFashion1984
Oh, lovely stuff!
On a side note, I would love it if your links opened in a new tab. I always forget to do that and have to go back and forth. Not that I’m lazy or anything….
WINE! (If they deliver to PA, they will likely deliver to most US states).

@Sue: They’re supposed to – I must have missed some. Sorry about that!
