Listen, I’m just going to apologize now for how addictive this post will be, and to your browser for how many tabs might be open in a few minutes.
I’m sorry.
We really, really like pins, patches, and tiny adorable ways to decorate one’s self, so get ready. Maybe this should be in “Hide Your Wallet,” too.
Some of my faves: PURRIDE
EVERYTHING from Pin Party Post, especially this one:
Additional Purride from Cosmically Created Art:
And Pruuonouns.
Pride Witch Hats?
And of course PRIDE DRAGONS.
I love all of Rose Finchie’s pins, especially the Gideon the Ninth ones:
I also spotted the Bi Pride Snek pin:
Amanda: The queer weapon pins from FoxflightStudios! They’re available as patches OR pins!
Sarah: This one was inspired by Cemetery Boys:
Elyse: I love the enamel pins from Channy Peas Corner.
Everything from Little Rooms.
Shana:
Ellen: I have a lot of ideas for this one haha
Shana: Me tooooo
Amanda: I love this shop’s fruit jewelry:
Obsessed with this Howl’s Moving Castle pin. The first batch sold out so quickly
This Gothic lit set. These can be purchased individually and the pins skew towards the classics:
Ellen: I love all of Shannon Talbot’s pins.
I also have some pins and patches from Ashlea Bechaz and I love them – little magical, little creepy.
And very cute animals and botanicals from Oh Jessica Jessica!
I have this dramatic “SUFFERING” pikachu pin and its one of my favorites:
The Painted Doodles has extremely cute “fanic” and “gamer” collections which I know are Relevant To The Bitchery’s Interests
Elyse: Cute D&D pins and stickers at Paola’s Pixels!
Ok, your turn!
Yes, we know we’re the literal worst for sharing all this temptation, but I am curious: what pins and patches are your faves? Please share your recs!
I have a pin-adjacent question for the group: how do you display your pins and patches if you love them but can’t wear them for various reasons? I collect Junior Ranger badges from the National Parks and I love them but don’t know what to do with them!
@Jessi how about pinning them to a canvas messenger bag or backpack? Or they make bags with clear display windows like this https://www.etsy.com/listing/847387828/ita-crossbody-pin-wow-display-bag-ready
bibipins.com has pins with a little flower that slides in a slot along a 0-10 scale to mark your level of Spoons, Fucks Given, Existential Dread, Exhaustion, etc. (Also many other items, but the pins put them on my radar.)
I absolutely love this list! Thanks for the ideas. My favorite pin site is…Jubly-umph.com Lots of literary options on this one.
@Jessi: The pin collector in my life sticks them in a corkboard for display. Dressmaker straight pins could be used to affix patches to the same.
Another fun option is to buy or make a banner or flag to hang them on, or to get an embroidery hoop or a few small ones and put fabric you like inside the hoop, maybe with some batting or a piece of an old t-shirt to give it some puff, and put your pins on that.
My absolute favorite, and I’ve purchased many, are the My Girl Gang is a Book Club pins from Rainbow Punch Press on Etsy. The metal pins ($11.85) are very well made, durable and always elicit a delighted response from everyone, including my surgeon. There are also smaller pins ($2.75) similar to badges. Love them all and the store.

Etsy is a huge source of book-inspired pins and everything else. I’ve been lost for days in all the possibilities.
If you’re putting a pin on something like a bag for long term wear and don’t want to risk losing it, pin keepers (the kind you put on with a tiny hex tool) are a great choice – no worrying about the little backs coming off!
For displaying pins, I picked up a cheap plain canvas (an 8×10 size one works well for me) at the crafts store, painted it a solid background color for where I wanted to display it, and then you can poke the pins through and thanks to the canvas frame, the clasps on the back have room. I found otherwise I was losing too many when I had them on my backpack that I commute with.
Squidbrains has really adorable stuff…enamel pins as well as prints.
Dragons, corgis, dogs … makes me smile.

I used to look for her at comic book conventions. I’m glad she has an etsy site.
A pin shop that I consider a public service is https://www.etsy.com/shop/Sootmegs?ref=usf_2020 They have pins for pronouns, neurodivergence, invisible disabilities and more. You can even get six-packs for autism, gender, mental illness, even pregnancy. I wear my Hearing Impaired pin any time I’m going somewhere where I’ll need to talk to people; it’s a subtle way to remind people to speak clearly without having to call attention to myself. I sent my sister an Anxiety Attack pin so if she’s out somewhere and has a panic attack people will know what is wrong and how to help. Especially good for children who don’t have the words to describe what’s going on inside them.
Also recently discovered https://www.etsy.com/shop/justinegilbuena?ref=usf_2020 who has some lovely pins and patches, joining my favorites list with https://www.etsy.com/shop/LyndseyGreen?ref=usf_2020§ion_id=19625561 and https://www.etsy.com/shop/TeaFoxIllustrations?ref=usf_2020§ion_id=26461449
