My Weird and Wonderful Wishlist

Last month, Sarah post some great bookish items and jewelry from her Etsy wishlist. I immediately sent her a message about how vastly different our wishlist items are. There is no method to my madness when it comes to saving things. I’ve got plushie moths, Dolly Parton artwork, and vintage plates that have been decorated with images of David Bowie.

Sometimes the internet is great.

Here are a handful of items from my very own Etsy wishlist and I think they perfectly capture my varying hobbies and interests.

NB: the links herein are affiliate-coded, which means a portion of any purchase comes back to the site (thanks!) at no extra cost to you. If you use them, great! And if not, no worries!

Geometric raccoon cross stitch pattern

Geometric Raccoon Cross Stitch Pattern from Velvet Pony Design ($6)

Looking for some great cross stitch patterns? Etsy has a ton of wonderful artists with their own unique styles. Velvet Pony Design has a lot of animal patterns and even sells complete kits.

Home is Where the Pants Aren't cross stitch patternHome is Where the Pants Aren’t Cross Stitch Pattern from Plastic Little Covers ($4.68)

I have purchased and stitched several projects from Plastic Little Covers, and Sarah even gifted me a cross stitch she completed from this shop! Many of the patterns have a floral design with a quote. (Sarah: I’ve also stitched this exact pattern. It’s lovely.)

Enamel pin of a stack of books

Books are a Gift Enamel Pin from Icey Designs ($9.85)

I have an extensive enamel pin collection and I’m always on the hunt for more! Icey Designs is mainly known for their book-themed candles, but they have other swag too.

Rain Cloud wooden pin

Rain Cloud Pin from Jesiii ($14)

This pin is actually laser cut wood. There’s also a magnet variation. Jesiii’s shop is so colorful. Just looking at the items makes me feel happy.

Am I Truly the Last print. From the Last Unicorn. A woman in a purple dress sits on a gilded chair. A white unicorn rests at her feet.

Am I Truly the Last Print from Megan Lara Art ($10+)

Megan Lara’s art is AH-MAZ-ING! It’s quite possible you’ve seen some already. This is one of my favorite prints because whoa, that color palette.

Lumberjack wax melts in a plastic clamshell case with a flannel print label.

Lumberjack Soy Vegan Wax Melts from In the Wick of Time ($6.50)

I love candles and wax melts and making my apartment smell like a cozy wooden cabin. The description: “I designed this candle to smell like a sexy lumberjack.”

Rose Quartz drop earrings with dangling leaves

Rose Quartz Drop Earrings from The Gem Maker ($84.88)

These aren’t cheap, but a girl can dream! I love the raw gemstone look. Normally, I exclusively wear stud earrings, but I’ve been slowing trying out different drop-styles lately.

Get Out wire ring set

Get Out Adjustable Wire Ring Set from Wire Boutique 2012 ($16.99)

For Christmas, one of my wonderful roommates gifted me a necklace from this shop that said “Girl Gang.” I love it and I’ve wanted to add more pieces ever since.

Broccoli Sheep Doll. A sheep doll that looks like a head of broccoli.

Broccoli Sheep Art Doll from Chercheto ($170)

This is literally the weirdest thing on my wishlist and I love it so much. The artist makes these bizarre fantasy creatures and I want to own all of them. They’re like if Tim Burton combined with Pokemon.

What have you added to your Etsy wishlist recently? Do you also want a Broccoli Sheep doll?

All of these I’m like, “well Amanda’s taste is different than mine, but she’s got her groove and I respect that” but then we got to the broccoli sheep dolls and I’m like “GIMME THAT!” Those are freaking hilarious

  2. Amanda says:

@HeatherT: The shop also has “moon cats” and all sorts of weird little creatures!

  3. DonnaMarie says:

Thanks (?) for Megan Lara rec. I’m supposed to be redoing my bedroom this summer, and now the plan is down the tubes because I’ll be decorating with a wall full of her prints in mind.

I put these on my list when the BFF started talking about selling her house and relocating. As the woman who is thankful every day that her big brother bought their parents house so she can go home again, I thought her girls would like a little something to commemorate where they grew up.

I am exactly with HeatherT. I really enjoyed seeing neat items that aren’t quite my own jam. And then I saw the sheep *squee!* and lost my everloving mind. I can’t justify buying them, but I will covet them the rest of my days.

  5. SB Sarah says:

Amanda sent me the broccoli sheep picture after asking, “Would you like to see the weirdest thing on my Etsy list…?” Like I’m going to say no to that.

And I have never been more charmed by anything so completely incongruous. Nothing says sheep like broccoli, and nothing says broccoli like sheep.
    Life: changed.

  6. Jenn says:

The broccoli sheep made me squee out loud. Kind of freaked out The Hubs. You also have some of my favorite cross stitch designers on your list. I feel like you would LOVE the Steotchalong mystery stitchalong. There are a lot of giggles, and probably a few shits — it’s amazing.

  7. Dee says:

I totally want that books are a gift pin.

  8. Deianira says:

Most of my Etsy wish list is either D&D related (I’m the DM for our group), or jewelry, because SHINY! That said, the broccoli sheep are surprisingly adorable!

Current favorite Etsy shop, though, is Faculty Loungers for witty & erudite shirts.

  9. Susan says:

Seriously, probably +90% of my non-grocery purchases are from either Etsy or Amazon. From Etsy, I especially like vintage household items (Depression glass, quilts, lighting, etc.), original artwork, cosmetics, jewelry…well, the list goes on. My late mother liked sheep/lambs so many ovine-related items from Etsy made it into her collection. Not sure what she’d have made of the broccoli sheep, but I love them!

  10. Linnea says:

    so, I ordered 8 patterns!!!

  11. Kareni says:

What a fun list! And, yes, those broccoli sheep are seriously unusual.

  12. denise says:

    Love the book pin!

I love Bagsy Me First on etsy. She sells book-related purses, coin cases, etc… and she’s having a sale. I don’t get anything for a referral, just sharing. She’s in the UK, but I haven’t had a problem with items and shipping. (When she deconstructs a book, she does salvage it with a new cover.)

  13. Kathy says:

The book pin is great. I am curious as to whether anyone has suggestions for how best to display an enamel pin collection, if you display them?

  14. Amanda says:

@Kathy: There are some options in my other pin post, but I make my own displays using colorful fabric and embroidery hoops.

  15. ClaireC says:

Not that I need any more candles, but “smells like a sexy lumberjack” is my favorite variety, so that went right into my favorites! And her “Jack the Pumpkin King” sounds perfect for fall.

  16. Jane says:

I need those earrings and that enamel book pin!! Thank you!
