Gift Guide 2023: Let’s Get Cozy and Sparkly!

It’s time to get sparkly and cozy and I had a really good time putting these links together. This week we’re taking a virtual shopping trip through Target. Let’s get to it!

NB: some of these links are affiliate-coded, which means a portion of your purchase comes back to us at no extra cost. Our affiliate sales are one of the revenue streams that keep the hot pink lights on in the hot pink palace, so shopping through our links is much appreciated!

One gift that always makes me and the recipient happy: cozy throws. Whether I’m making them, or I’m putting them into my shopping cart and then hiding them from the pets (who LOVE to make biscuits on a fuzzy throw) I love giving someone a warm blanket.

This Metallic Knit Throw is sparkly AND cozy and created the theme for this post. Isn’t it pretty?

You can also be very honest and say that this gift might appear to be for the humans, but it’s really for the pets.  There is no doubt in my mind that this throw would be immediately claimed by furry household mammals:

Printed velvet reversible throw blanket in grey and cream plaid on one side and a darker blue narrow plaid on the other side it is VERY fuzzy and in the picture is folded into a very plump square
Printed Reversible Throw, $32

There are four different color combinations and patterns to choose from, and it’s 50″x60″ so maybe they’d be willing to share? Maybe?

I also love how many different faux fur throws there are now – and how soft they are:

A ribbed faux fur blanket with horizontal stripes in a deep coral pink Textured Faux Fur Reversible Throw, $25

This throw is reversible, and comes in four colors including a beautiful deep grey, but I think I like the pink the most.

But if the stripe texture isn’t your thing, there’s also a plain faux rabbit fur throw, also in four colors, including grey, cream, and pink:

But if you’re thinking, gee, those don’t seem warm enough, let’s add electricity! (LOL I feature heating pads and electric blankets every year, and every year I want one more.)

A very fuzzy blue plaid blanket with a White person's hand in front holding the electronic heat controlElectric Throw, $50

This electric throw is 50″x60″ and is available in six different colors. I love heated blankets (and heating pads, one of which is on the back of my desk chair right now).

And if you are decorating the house for Hanukkah, AND you like throws, my goodness there are so many Hanukkah decor options now, including this deep blue Hanukkah blanket. It’s kind of amazing, given that a few years ago there was hardly anything except at specialty stores.

A deep blue fuzzy print with little pictures of menorot, dreidels, doves and oil scattered on a starry background. The reverse side is a plush in whiteHanukkah Throw, $15

So that’s some cozy, but how about some sparkly! While noodling around the Hanukkah options, I found the most incredible earrings.

Sparkly menorah earrings with multicolored candles on a very sparkly menorah
BaubleBar Light the Candles Earrings, $13
dangle earrings that have a stud at the top that is a blue pompom hat and swinging below is a big blue sweater with striped sleeves and faux stones at the collar and hem and in the middle it says LOVE YOU A LATKE
BaubleBar Love You a Latke Earrings, $13

And the sparkly isn’t just Hanukkah either!

Sparkly glitter enamel earrings that look like Starbucks cups with white snowflakes on them, wrapped in a green garland with holiday lights and at the top is a cinnamon stick and some chocolate on whipped cream
BaubleBar Cup of Cheer Latte Earrings, $13
Sparkly dangle earrings in the shape of a glittery champagne bottle wrapped in pastel lights and a diamond garland the bottles dangle from earrings that look like corks I think
BaubleBar Pop That Present earrings, $13

If you are attending an ugly holiday sweater gathering, or want to really celebrate with your earlobes, WOW, are there some options.

(Also, a side note to y’all who give Hanukkah gifts: Target has adorable Hanukkah wrapping paper, which is always the hardest thing for me to find. There’s one with dogs that says Happy Pawnukkah, omg, and one that’s printed with Hanukkah cookies, and I think I want all of them.) (They saw me coming with the pun wrapping paper.)

I light a lot of candles when it starts to get dark earlier and earlier after Daylight Savings time ends, and I love to give bath bombs and candles together as gifts. And there are so many to choose from – here are a few that I love. (I probably should have titled this one Cozy Sparkly and Fizzy?)

A snowman bath bomb with a snowflake imprinted on the bath bomb, and its wrapped in a package that makes it look like the bomb is the belly of the printed snowman
Da Bomb Snowman Bath Fizz, $5

A six pointed green star bath bomb with a red label that reads Peppermint and sugar cane
Peppermint and Sugar Cane bath bomb, $5

And look at this: an entire 12-day advent calendar of miniature bath bombs? How nifty!!

A bath bomb advent calendar with a big reindeer in a wreath printed on the front below the words Merry Fizzmas Advent Calendar
Merry Fizzmas Bath Bomb Advent Calendar, $20

12 mini bath bombs – that’s adorable.

And look at this:

Brown Sugar and Toasted Almond bath bomb shaped like a cupcake in a bubbly bath it's so cute

And there is no limit to the different holiday scents available in candle form. I particularly love giving candles that are in gorgeous jars like this one:

Wonderberry and Sage Scented candle with a red frosted glass container and a gold lid
Wonderberry and Sage Candle, $5

Gosh, that red and gold is pretty.

Cashmere cuddles candle with a blue jar printed with a nordic sweater pattern and a gold lid on the label it says cashmere cuddles in gold
Cashmere Cuddles dual wick candle, $10

I love dual-wick candles. I also love the wood wick ones – have you heard those? They crackle!

What are your favorite gifts to shop for at Target? What are your favorite cozy and sparkly (and/or fizzy) gifts?

I’ve bought multiple electric throws and lost every single one to the dogs!

Yup. They’re really not for us, are they?

This showed up in my facebook feed, courtesy of a friend. It isn’t Target, but Amazon. Maybe they are at Target too?
Honestly, I am sad I can’t use it due to migraines, but I feel a lot of us need it this year. https://www.amazon.com/Fairys-Gift-Lavender-Scented-Candles/dp/B0B936MTP8/?th=1

Our old cat used to sit on the electric blanket and look expectantly at my husband until he let out a sigh and turned it on for her. She wasn’t a spoiled princess at all!

If I hadn’t already pledged my eternal devotion to SBTB, this collection of blankets would do it. Direct line to my heart.

The only thing that I’ve found that distracts my beasties from my blankets are these heavenly cat beds – they don’t need to be turned on/off, don’t get too hot and are pressure activated. https://www.amazon.com/Pet-Products-3191-Thermo-Kitty-Heated/dp/B07HML9YLD/ref=sr_1_16?crid=25C5XYXUIR2G&keywords=heated%2Bcat%2Bbed&qid=1700104266&sprefix=heated%2Bcat%2Caps%2C176&sr=8-16&th=1

I’ve had to buy them for just about every room in my house, otherwise the squabbling would never end (my incredibly placid boy cat very slowly leaned forward and bit my girl cat on the face when she tried to pressure him to get out of the first one of these that I bought).

On the topic of candles, I recommend https://www.whiskeyriversoap.com/products/a-candle-for-zero-fucks – smells amazing, is 100% accurate for my life this week. Can confirm, I have none left to give.
