Time for another installment of our 2018 Holiday Gift Guide!
I’ve been reading through the metric tonne of catalogs that have landed in my mailbox, and reading the email suggestions you’ve been sending in. You’re all fabulous shoppers.
Let’s do this!
First: Baby Gift For All Eternity, sorted. The Out of Print Clothing baby onesie collection is terrific, but the Everybody Poops onesie is my new favorite.
Everyone Poops onesie: $20 AMZ | Out of Print: $20
If you have waffle needs (who doesn’t?) perhaps you or someone you know needs a terrific waffle iron.
ThinkGeek has a Pokeball Waffle Iron ($35):
Or, for your more dramatic waffles, there’s also this one:
We already knew the Dark Side had waffles, right? Right.
And from the random desk item that’s endlessly fascinating department (that’s totally a department, right?) there’s this:
Infinite torch-lined hallway illusion box, $26.
Basically, it’s an illusion box: you turn it on, and it looks like an endless torch-lined hallway is sitting on your desk. The user submitted images make it seem terrific, too.
Can’t forget this one – The Ripped Bodice has an online and in-store holiday shop, complete with themed boxes, should you wish to purchase!
And Bawdy Bookworms has some excellent gifting options – check out this necklace!
Ova-Achiever Necklace, Bawdy Bookworms, $24.
There’s also a Get Sleigh’d Holiday box available for a limited time:
For all your ugly-sweater competition needs, I have a few to share that should make you recoil in horror (sorry!).
First, please note that a member of my immediate family is SO EXCITED to wear this:
Faux Real Men’s Hanukkah Printed Ugly Shirt, $24.
These shirts are printed to look like sweaters, but are really long-sleeved athletic-shirt style polyester pullovers. This means they aren’t itchy, and they’re thin, so you can wear layers beneath (if you need to).
But there are more than just Hanukkah designs (including the pun-tastic “Cats and the Dreidel and the Silver Spoon” shirt, which makes me snortlaugh). I’m pretty sure I’ve seen this design on a book cover. Well, kinda sure.
Faux Real Holiday Santa Shirt, $28. LOOK – the shirt is OPEN BUT TUCKED IN!
And for the crafty person in your life (stay tuned for tomorrow’s holiday crafting idea post, btw!) there are some adorable totes and bags available for hauling your stash o’ works in progress.
Knitting Tote Bag, Large, $18 | Small, $13
This tote has compartments for yarn, grommets to feed the yarn through, and a large space for the current project. It comes in two sizes, and in a bunch of colors and patterns.
What about you? What are you shopping for, or what nifty delightful gifts have you found? Happy shopping!
Those shirts are so good!
There was a mini craft fair in town and this artist from Portland was part of it.

I purchased a different bag, but I’m super tempted by this one!
My boys, especially my oldest, loved the book: Everybody Poops. I think if it came in adult sizes, he would wear it.
While it probably goes without saying that the Death Star waffle iron will be going on my list, I just want to say how much the gift posts and the Hanukhah posts make smile because I can almost feel SBSarah smiling while she posts them. It’s like the Pink Palace is radiating happiness.
FYI I got the Death Star waffle maker as a gag gift and thought it would be used once but it has now been two years of always awesome waffles and always a hit. I use the simple recipe from Mark Bittman and it works a charm. almond extract instead of vanilla is also good too!
Oh and protip on the Death Star waffles! Pour 3/4 batter in… leave a broken piece on the side and you get a smaller portion and it looks like exactly when it was damaged in the fight– pew! pew!
@Susie, you are the bomb!
Over on John Scalzi’s Whatever blog, https://whatever.scalzi.com/ , from Dec. 2-7, there’ve been 5 days of gift guides and suggestions. Look in the comments for lots of groovy creations and artists.
At my company, we love so many of Tom Donald’s prints that we’re sending our contractors one of his mugs for the second time in three years (as year-end thank you gifts). We’re tempted by his bags, too. And the scarves look lovely… https://www.redbubble.com/people/tomdonald/shop/top+selling+tall-mugs?accordion=style&cat_context=u-mugs&ref=artist_shop_style_refinement
I use the Levengrove Park mug every single day. It feels just right in my hands for the morning coffee.
