Deals on Reading, Listening – and Devices!

Is your email inbox replete with Black Friday offers? I have…so many. I love how Black Friday starts in, like, September now. On one hand, if something I’ve been shopping slowly for goes on sale, total win! On the other, oy, my inbox.

I know there are so many different sales and deals right now, but I wanted to highlight a few that might be of interest to you!

Libro.fm is having an Audiobook Sale, with some titles less than $6!

If you’re not familiar with Libro.fm, they offer subscriptions and individual audiobook purchases, and you can select an independent bookstore or sometimes even a “Friends of” library group to benefit from your purchases. Audiobooks + supporting local stores and libraries = WIN!

There are so many romances on sale, too! Some of the books featured include Ladies in Hating by Alexandra Vasti, which is $4.99, and freaking superb in audio.

Lovelight Farms by BK Borison is also $4.99 in audio at Libro.fm, as is The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang, and Give Me a Reason by Jayci Lee, which was just reviewed here recently!

If you’re looking for a device you can read and also take notes on, the Kobo Libra Colour is on sale – $30 off! Normally $229.99, it’s $199.99 for a limited time.

While Kobo Plus does not appear to have any Black Friday deals, the prices are already lower than KU, including the plan that offers ebooks and audiobooks.

Amazon has Kindles and other devices on sale, of course!

The Kindle 16gb is the newest model, and it’s 27% off at $79.99.

I remember when authors would stock up on Black Friday sale Kindles and give them away the following year for book promos. Does anyone still do that?

The Kindle Paperwhite is also on sale at 22% off, at $124.99.

The Kindle Paperwhite is the one that has an onboard light, and please note: this price is for the ad-supported model, which serves ads as a screensaver. The ad-free Paperwhite is on sale for 144.99, which is 19% off.

Oh – there is also a Kindle Kids 16gb device for $94.99. The Kindle Kids devices come  in three adorable designs, and are equipped with six months of Amazon Kids+, a subscription designed for ages 3-12. The Kindle Kids+ subscription renews at $5.99/month. Adults can also add books from their own accounts to the kids’ library, adjust filters, and set a device bedtime.

And speaking of subscriptions — the current Kindle Unlimited deal is one of the nifty ones: three months for .99!

And, as always, a tip: if you set up a trial subscription, set up a reminder or calendar appointment before the deal is up with a link to where you unsubscribe. That way you won’t forget and you can ask yourself if you want to keep the subscription. KU renews at $11.99 plus tax each month after the trial period.

If I keep going with Black Friday deals, I’ll never leave my desk – so please feel welcome to add links to any deals you’re shopping this week.

Happy Thanksgiving if you’re celebrating, and happy shopping!

What books are those excerpts from? Especially the second. How can the first page of Chapter 1 be 17%? Unless there are more than one books in the same volume.

My hot tip when buying a kindle- it’s worth going with the kindle kids edition even for an adult. For $15 more you get an ad-free kindle, the case is included and it comes with a 2-year replacement guarantee. Just make sure to cancel the kids+ subscription before you get charged (if you don’t need it).

  3. Kareni says:

@LML ~ I’ve downloaded samples of novellas or stories where I never got to read a word of the text because there was so much prefatory matter!

  4. Kerry says:

@LML: The second is Celeste Ng’s Our Missing Hearts, which doesn’t have an untoward amount of front matter. I’m guessing it’s 17% of the downloaded sample rather than 17% of the whole book.

  5. spiffi says:

@LML – “Our Missing Hearts” by Celeste Ng is the second one.
