Good morning and Merry Christmas to everyone who is celebrating!
Time for the second night of our annual eight straight days of giveaways to celebrate Hanukkah!
Today, we’re celebrating Carrie’s love of science fiction, kickass heroines, fantasy, history, subversiveness, and comics!
Some of the items in this giveaway are so awesome, I was seriously tempted to switch them out with something else, but NO.
These are for y’all and… yeah, have a look:
The LoungeFly Black Widow Mini Dome Satchel, which I mentioned in a recent gift guide and recommended by Jennifer Estep.
A Hardcover copy of Rejected Princesses: Tales of History’s Boldest Heroines, Hellions, and Heretics by Jason Porath

A selection of three matchbook-style notebooks featuring the original covers of Flowers from the Storm, The Flame and the Flower, and The Kadin, produced to celebrate Avon’s 75th Anniversary.

A spiral bound vintage Harlequin cover notebook, featuring Nine to Five. You can keep all your own not-too-private secrets in there!

Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase
HOT HEAD by Damon Suede! It’s the only book I have in paperback, ebook, and audio: funny, heartrending, sweet, and insanely sexy.
The Heiress Effect by Courtney Milan. Not just a great romance, but a great book period.
What I Did for the Duke by Julie Anne Long. Intelligent hero and heroine with dazzling repartee. A long, slow, satisfying seduction!
Julia Quinn’s Romancing Mr. Bridgerton!
Tiger’s Woman by Celeste De Blasis.
actually any historical by Ms De Blassis.
And it would be very nice to be able to get them as an ebook!!
It’s far more erotica than romance, but my fave is WHITE ROSE ENSNARED by Juliet Hastings. And if that Black Lace erotic novel wins me a prize, awesome!
Mine is super recent – but Sarina Bowen’s Understatement of the Year is a keeper for me. One of my favorite m/m books ever.
Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell.
Indiscreet by Mary Balogh. It is not a perfect book (and I haven’t read the re-issued version), but I love this story.
Hidden Blade & My Beautiful Enemy by Sherry Thomas! I am still overwhelmed by the powerful emotions packed into these pages!
Whitney, My Love by Judith McNaught. PC or not, it hooked me on to romance.
I like the steamy stuff by Tiffany Reisz! **fans self**
I have quite a few keepers, but the one I have multiple copies of (and will always buy if I encounter a copy at a used book sale) is KATHERINE by Anya Seton. It’s historical fiction–but extremely romantic!
When the Beauty Tamed the Beast by Eloisa James and The Year We Fell Down by Sarina Bowen
The Flame and the Flower – my first romance!
Kristen Ashley’s ‘Knight’. And Lisa Kleypas’ novella ‘Surrender’ in the ‘Gifts of Love’ antho. It’s the perfect quick comfort read length.
Happy Holidays!!
Roseanne Bittner’s Savage Destiny Series starting with Sweet Prairie Passon. I was babysitting for her sister and read the teen romance I had with me and found this book in the house and devoured it. I kept them years – then during a move they were culled and not a year later I bought them all again and still read them periodically. The book started me on western adult romance, which lead me to contemporary (Judith Krantz), SFF, regency, contemporary, m/m, new adult – now I just read whatever strikes me.
The Duke by Gaelen Foley
Psy/Changeling Series by Nalini Singh.
The Ivy Tree by Mary Stewart.
Every book ever written by Courtney Milan and Tessa Dare!
The Jewels of the Sun series by Nora Roberts as it was my first Nora series and helped me get sucked deeper into romance land.
Welcome to Temptation by Jennifer Crusie
Garwood’s The Bride
Montana Sky by Nora Roberts. A keeper for always and now I want to do a reread!
I can’t choose one!
1. Unraveled, Courtney Milan
2. Ravishing the Heiress, Sherry Thomas
Devil In Winter by Lisa Kleypas/The Talisman Ring by G. Heyer.
Mists of Avalon. Not a true “romance” novel, but awesome romance adjacent.
Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase! I read it every year. It warms my heart, makes me laugh and I adore the writing.
Everything by Sherry Thomas.
Tinker by Wen Spencer. Hits all my wants. SF, elves, romance, and a girl mechanic genius. Have in hardback and digital.
Persuasion by Jane Austen, and Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers. Also Unraveled by Courtney Milan.
The Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase. I adore the writing, the humor, the romance, the whole story.
My Crow series by Shelly Laurenston is staying on my keeper shelf forever. One never knows when a strong women, Vikings, mayhem and hot sex will be needed.
Outlander will never, every leave my keeper shelf.
Outlander will never, ever leave my keeper shelf.
Mackenzie’s Mountain by Linda Howard
There’s a fan fiction story that’s about 20k words that I read over and over. It’s super sweet and the best comfort read. I actually have to stop myself from reading it too may times. I think I have it almost memorized.
Sandra Brown’s “Slow Heat in Heaven.” First romance I ever read, and upon re-reading I see how my favourite tropes were set. Love!
