You’re the Duke That I Want by Lenora Bell is $1.99! I mentioned this one in December 2023’s Hide Your Wallet because I felt like the Bitchery needed to know that a historical romance based on Grease exists. This is book one in the Thunderbolt Club series.
RECOMMENDED: Tiffany Girl by Deeanne Gist is $1.99! This is an American historical romance. Redheadedgirl read the book after hearing about it on a panel at a previous RT conference, and she gave it a B+:
I loved this and chewed through it like someone was going to take it away from me, and I’m totally going to check out more of Gist’s work. She writes specifically American historicals, which are kind of sparse on the ground lately, and are a refreshing change of pace from the English historicals.
A Thousand Recipes for Revenge by Beth Cato is $1.99 on Amazon! This is the first book in a series and I feel like a food-based fantasy adventure would be right up the Bitchery’s alley.
Overall I loved reading this book. I literally gasped and clapped my hands over my mouth periodically, like a silent movie star. It’s so gripping, so beautifully written, and such a powerful homage to women’s voices and the need to unify against a common enemy.
Astrid Parker Doesn’t Fail by Ashley Herring Blake is $2.99! This is book two in the Bright Falls series; most of the books (if not all of them) have been mentioned in Hide Your Wallet. Do you have a favorite book in the series?
The Blighted Stars is the first book in a series, so we don’t get a ton of resolution in this novel, romantic or otherwise. If you’re looking for a complete romantic arc, don’t start this book.
The Sun and the Void by Gabriela Romero Lacruz is $2.99 and a Kindle Daily Deal! This was mentioned on a Hide Your Wallet post and the author is an accomplished artist! I own a few of their very cute coffee mugs.
RECOMMENDED: The Stand-In by Lily Chu is $1.99! This is a debut contemporary romance. Elyse gave this one an A:
So we have a celebrity romance, women being friends and helping each other with their mental health, and reflections on identity and community. That’s a lot to pack into a book, but it all works and delivered by Philippa Soo’s incredibly soothing voice, it was totally my jam.
RECOMMENDED: We Could Be So Good by Cat Sebastian is $1.99! Thanks to everyone who let us know about this deal; fingers crossed it’s still active! Lara gave this one an A:
TL;DR: Read this book if you’d like to be swept along safely in a rising tide of emotion, predominantly love.
