RECOMMENDED: Give Me a Reason by Jayci Lee is $2.99! Guest reviewer Lisa gave this an A-:
Give Me a Reason is absolutely packed with restrained passion and yearning. There’s too much hurt between Frederic and Anne for them to initially approach each other, and yet they still want to be together.
This HaBO request is from SL, who wants to find this romance: I’m looking for a regency romance. I thought it was a Mary Balogh book, but can’t find it, so it might be an author similar to Balogh. What I know for certain: Hero either kills or wounds brother in a duel. Hero had meant to delope, but was young and a terrible shot… Hero is either exiled by family or is self-exiled. A Tale of Mirth and Magic by Kristen Vale is $1.99 and a Kindle Daily Deal! This released in August and has a lot of catnip. What I liked is that this is still cozy and sexy.
Temple of Swoon by Jo Segura is $1.99! I think this is a standalone, but might be related to Segura’s debut Raiders of the Lost Heart.
Chaos Terminal by Mur Lafferty is $1.99 and a Kindle Daily Deal! This is book two in the Midsolar Murders series, which is a sci-fi, cozy mystery series. I enjoyed book one!
Thank You for Listening by Julia Whelan is $1.99! Fingers crossed this deal is still valid. Sarah mentioned this on Hide Your Wallet and was interested in the meta-ness of it. She also had Whelan on the podcast!
RECOMMENDED: The Secret Lives of Country Gentleman by KJ Charles is $1.99! Carrie gave this one a B+:
The strengths of this book are in the balancing of conflict with humor and optimism, the rich characterizations, and the portrayal of life on the marsh, as well as a romance between two opposites. It’s entertaining, exciting, and immersive. While I wanted a little more from the ending, I enjoyed this book overall!
RECOMMENDED: Well Met by Jen DeLuca is $1.99! This is a contemporary romance set at a Ren Faire! Carrie gave this one a B:
It’s playful and fun with an undercurrent of powerful, mutual empathy and mutual emotional care.
John Eyre by Mimi Matthews is $2.99! This is a retelling of the Bronte classic and has similar elements of a Gothic historical romance. Have you read this one? Carrie read it and gave it a C+ in a Lightning Review.
An Inconvenient Duke by Anna Harrington is $1.99! This is book one in the Lords of the Armory series. This historical romance features the “off-limits sibling of a friend” trope. If that’s your particular catnip, maybe pick this one up.
