For Her Consideration by Amy Spalding is $3.99! I remember mentioning this one in my Book Depository post because the UK cover is so gorgeous and this one feels more nondescript. While we don’t have an official review, I remember Shana liking this one during Slack discussions.
The ads and features of the September 2015 issue of Romantic Times are a nine-layer cake of wonderment and weird. Side trips include: Janet Dailey and who is writing her books (we don’t know) lawyer romances changes in cover design a twist cliffhanger in a quiz with no answer key! Plus, this issue of the magazine and also Amanda both have terrific memories of RT 2015 in Dallas. Don’t miss the visual aids! WE GOT … Continue reading 633. RT Rewind: September 2015 Ads & Features

The Hurricane Wars by Thea Guanzon is $1.99! This was Guanzon’s debut and is a fantasy romance. I believe Elyse mentioned this one on a previous Hide Your Wallet. This is also a title that joins the ranks of published Reylo fics.
This Rec League came from Kim. Thanks, Kim! I just read Rachel Reid’s excellent m/m hockey romance Time to Shine, and am looking for more “golden retriever”-style MMCs. Can be any gender pairing, but my preference is m/f or m/m. If m/f, it should be a golden retriever MMC, not FMC. I think of the golden retriever hero as joyful/playful, extroverted, loyal, supportive of the other MC, physical/physically affectionate, and not especially book smart. I … Continue reading The Rec League: Golden Retriever Energy
Welcome back to Wednesday Links! How is everyone?! Big news for me, as of Monday, I’m engaged! It’s very exciting. I’m recording the next RT Rewind with Sarah tomorrow and I’m sure I’ll talk all about that. There has been lots of champagne consumption since then and there’s something so particular about a champagne hangover headache, as my now fiancé has learned. I want to thank you all for your exercise suggestions. I know a … Continue reading Links: More Romance Bookstores, Knitting, & More
RECOMMENDED: The Secret Lives of Country Gentleman by KJ Charles is $1.99! Carrie gave this one a B+:
The strengths of this book are in the balancing of conflict with humor and optimism, the rich characterizations, and the portrayal of life on the marsh, as well as a romance between two opposites. It’s entertaining, exciting, and immersive. While I wanted a little more from the ending, I enjoyed this book overall!
This Saturday, 21 September I’m attempting to moderate a panel on Rrrrrromantasy! with Kit Rocha, Kimberly Lemming, and Leslye Penelope for the Northern Hearts Virtual Conference! We won’t be moderate, I’m sure, but if you’d like to sign up for the conference, you can! The 3-day event, presented by Toronto Romance Writers (hi neighbors!) is open to writers at all levels and includes write-ins, socialization time, and the impossible joy of watching me attempt to … Continue reading Rrrrromantasy at Northern Hearts Virtual Conference!
This guest review is from Crystal Anne! Crystal Anne with An E comes to us from a sunny clime, but prefers to remain a pale indoor cat. She enjoys reading, cross-stitching something nerdy, going to see live music, and playing video games. She works as an autism consultant by day, got a degree in information science for fun, and currently serves on her local library advisory board. … Okay, now that I have made sure … Continue reading The X-Files: Perihelion
RECOMMENDED: My Season of Scandal by Julie Anne Long is $1.99! Lara reviewed this and gave it an A:
I sit here stunned. Yes, I have written this review twice. The first version was too overwrought because I was entirely overcome by this book. This is such a bracing, visceral story of deep thoughts and even deeper emotions that it left me wrung out.
