Whiskey Sharp: Unraveled by Lauren Dane is 99c! I know Sarah enjoyed this one and is excited for the next book in the series. Here’s what she said about Unraveled, and she typed this while on a snow slope! She assured me that she stopped snowboarding first.
It’s low on relationship conflict and high on family conflict. I really liked the found family aspects. And the food.

Help A Bitch Out - SOLVED!

This HaBO is from Marnie, who is hoping to find this historical romance: I read this book about 10 years ago. I do not remember many details of the story or the characters, but the location caught my attention as it was a place I visited and loved as a child. The location was Fort Steele in southern BC, Canada. I remember that at least part of the story happened in the winter and involved … Continue reading HaBO: Romance Set at Fort Steele →
Family Jewels is a mystery that features two best friends who own a landscaping/ plant nursery business and also solve mysteries. It’s the first in a new series, an offshoot of the Rose Gardner mystery series, but you don’t have to have read the previous series to enjoy this book. There’s also a strong romantic subplot and lots and lots of unresolved sexual tension. The violence takes place off screen so it’s a non-scary, non-gory … Continue reading Family Jewels by Denise Grover Swank →

Mercury Striking by Rebecca Zanetti is $1.99! This is a dystopian romance and the first in a new series. Readers loved the worldbuilding and thought the heroine had a nice blending of being confident yet vulnerable. However, some said they felt a little lost in all of the action. Be warned that there is some consent issues regarding spanking, as commented by Lia in a previous sale post.

One Night in Paris lured me into its clutches because it had “Paris” in the title. It looked like a nice stand-alone romance novella with which I could while away the hours that I spend in grocery store lines. I was mistaken. Reader, this is no moon! The call is coming from inside the house! Run for your lives! Run for it, Marty! While this review is listed as DNF, “Did Not Finish,” please know … Continue reading One Night In Paris by Kayla Perrin →

Cover Awe is back today! This is where we discuss covers that have recently caught our eyes, though we might not always agree. Amanda: Well that is stunning. It reminds me a lot of those 3D paper crafts people do. Sarah: Oh, gosh. The paper cut look is gorgeous. Vicky Scott does similar work – she did illustrations for SBTB, too and I love them. What a fantastic cover. Elyse: I love this cover. First … Continue reading Cover Awe: Mermaids, Cookies, & Shiny Stuff →

RECOMMENDED: Once Upon a Marquess by Courtney Milan is 99c! This is book one in the Worth Saga and I think SBTB has reviewed nearly every recent Milan release. RHG and Carrie did a joint review of this one. It earned an A grade and there was a lot of squeeing.

I’d like to request your help with building a game for our upcoming Podcast Live Show at RT (Thursday! 5/17! 5:30pm PT! Naples 4!) if you wouldn’t mind answering a brief survey. This year, instead of trivia, I’m going to be hosting, with Robin Bradford, a lively and ridiculous game of Romance Feud. You remember Family Feud or Family Fortune, right? There was a “survey” of 100 people answering questions like, “Name a food you take on … Continue reading Romance Feud: Your Clever Assistance is Requested! →

Last month a BUNCH of people talked about how their favorite use of golden syrup was ANZAC biscuits. And ANZAC Day was on April 25th, and in the comments of a post on Go Fug Yourself about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attending ANZAC Remembrance services, more people talked about how much they loooooved these cookies biscuits. ANZAC biscuits are associated with WWI, with the image of care packages going out and the kids at Gallipoli … Continue reading RedHeadedGirl’s Historical Kitchen: ANZAC Bisciuts →
