I don’t know if you’ve noticed but… *looks both ways* I don’t usually review m/f romances. And that’s because I don’t usually read them either! I made an exception for Hang the Moon because I loved Brendon when I met him in Written in the Stars. Boy howdy, am I glad I did, because this book is ADORABLE. Annie is lonely in Philadelphia, so she leaps at a promotion that will take her to London. … Continue reading Hang the Moon by Alexandria Bellefleur →
This request comes from Sue (Hey, Sue!), who has a K-Drama-inspired recommendation request: Hi all! Looking for any recs where they’re in love and *miserable* about it. I’m about halfway though the Korean drama Crash Landing On You and right now the main characters are def super in love and SO TORTURED about it. I’m thoroughly enjoying the melodrama. Obviously in romance novels the HEA is guaranteed which is why I’m about to handle the … Continue reading The Rec League: Tortured Love →

This HaBO is from Kate, who wants to find this category romance: I have a HABO request. I am hesitating to submit it because my memory is crap and the details are thin, but I love the HABO column and every time someone finds their book, I dream longingly of finding mine as well. So…here’s go. This is a book I borrowed from my grandma, sometime in the mid to late 90s. It was definitely … Continue reading HaBO: Bridesmaids Look Like Little Bo Peep →

RECOMMENDED: Open House by Ruby Lang is 99c! Aarya read this one and gave it a B+:
Nitpicks aside, Open House is a shining example of what novellas can accomplish. High word count isn’t necessary for the emotional resonance of numerous complex issues. I enthusiastically recommend Open House to any reader looking to laugh and cry while reading a short contemporary romance.

Whenever I sense a whiff of a new historical romance with fantasy, paranormal, or steampunk elements, my ears perk up and I’m on alert. And yes, this is a call to send me your recommendations if you have any. Be aware that it will take some deep cuts, though, to suggest a book I haven’t heard of or read. Set in an alternate version of Victorian-era London, the Wisteria Society is made up of a … Continue reading The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels by India Holton →
Happy Cover Snark Monday! Claudia: Not horrid but I can’t stop looking at the way her eyes are oddly spaced. Also smudgy? Sarah: One of her eyes is way bigger than the other. She looks like Angie Harmon Claudia: So odd!! I hope it’s just some fluke with the tweet announcement I saw. Elyse: She looks drunk. Shana: Her arms look oddly proportioned too. Lara: I thought she was rolling her eyes… Carrie: I think … Continue reading Cover Snark: Chorts →

RECOMMENDED: The Hating Game by Sally Thorne is $1.99! This is part of 10 pages of Kindle Daily Deals, which include lots of romance and some cookbooks! Sarah really loved this one, though made a mention of some offensive language. However, I believe subsequent copies have the offending language changed. Correct me if I’m wrong.
If your reading catnip, like mine, includes a blend of dialogue that crackles with intensity and emotion, cranky, stoic heroes with hidden, squishy depths, and vivid, self-assured heroines who take exactly zero crap from said hero, you should find yourself a copy of this book.
