The Jackal by J.R. Ward is $1.99! This is book one in the Black Dagger Brotherhood spin-off series: Prison Camp. I fell off this particular bandwagon years ago, so I’m unsure if this spin-off can be started on its own and if the series has changed much since the original books.
This HaBO comes from A., who wants to find this interesting erotic romance book: I saw a post online looking for a book that looks awesome. The site also recommended emailing you, so I am in hopes that you may know what it is! I’m looking for an erotic book written in second person, where ‘you’ are a woman being trained for BDSM by ‘your lover’, and are exposed to increasingly varied experiences till finally … Continue reading HaBO: Erotica Written in Second Person→
The Duke Heist by Erica Ridley is $1.99! This is book one in a new series and was mentioned on a previous Hide Your Wallet. Elyse was super excited about the heist element, though I remember her mentioning that there’s a malecalico kitten and how that’s rather rare, though not impossible.
It’s another Monday and that means it’s time for another Cover Snark! From Carole: One Nipple headed west, one missing in the east. That is the one of the worst photo-shopped backgrounds – it looks like giant mutant carnation stalks starting to envelop him from the right – and ohh what can the SBTB do with that series title Farm Pleasures?? The mind boggles… Tara: If I never read the phrase “Farm Pleasures” again, it … Continue reading Cover Snark: Scream Inside Your Heart→
An Easy Death by Charlaine Harris is $3.99! This is the first book in the fantasy western Gunnie Rose series. I’m super curious about it and have the first book just sitting on my TBR. One thing that does bug me is that the third book in the series is coming out and the cover is a big departure from the previous two books.
Hey there guys, gals, and nonbinary pals! Ready to get rec’d? Some of you may have seen this a little early due to a scheduling snafu! This is a new feature where I, Amanda, will be talking about some of the books I’ve recommend to fellow book lovers outside of Smart Bitches. We’re aiming for every two weeks or so! For those of you who don’t know, I have a part time job as a … Continue reading Get Rec’d With Amanda!→
Meddling and Murder by Ovidia Yu is 99c! This his a cozy mystery, though I’m unsure which installment this one is in the Aunty Lee Mystery series. Some places say it’s #1 in one series, while others say it’s #4 in another. I know Sarah has really enjoyed Yu’s Crown Colony series.
This month’s Kickass Woman was brought to my attention by the book The Woman They Could Not Silence: One Woman, Her Incredible Fight For Freedom, and the Men Who Tried To Make Her Disappear by Kate Moore. Kate Moore is also the author of The Radium Girls: The Dark History of America’s Shining Women. I recommend both books with the caveat that they will induce feelings of rage, as Moore brings historical cases of systemic … Continue reading Kickass Women in History: Elizabeth Packard→
Ooops! Usually, to prepare for the Whatcha Reading? posts, I have an automation tied to my site calendar (the site has its own calendar) (I love calendars) that will post a message to our internal Slack asking, well, the obvious question. Somehow, and I suspect it was fingers being clumsy on my phone, I accidentally turned off that automation (darn!) so the query didn’t go off. So this is a shorter, but no less heartfelt … Continue reading Whatcha Reading, Part The First!→
My Sweet Folly by Laura Kinsale is $2.99! This book sounds absolutely bananas. Readers really loved the heroine and how witty she was. However, given the bananas quality of the book, some said the pacing is a bit all over the place. Have you read this one?
