This HaBO request comes from Gloriamarie, who is looking for this contemporary romance: Sadly, I remember very little of this book I read within the last ten years. I’d like to read it again. All I remember is that the heroine loves high-top sneakers, has them in many colors, searches the Internet looking for colors she doesn’t have. The hero seeks to please her by trying to find unusual high-tops that she just might not … Continue reading HaBO: Heroine Collects Sneakers →

RECOMMENDED: The Beautiful Ones by Silvia Moreno Garcia is $2.99! Carrie reviewed this one and gave it a B+:
The Beautiful Ones is a book that includes many genres, including fantasy, romance, manners, and just a little bit of Gothic. I enjoyed it more as a soap opera than a romance, but your mileage will vary depending on your interpretation of the characters.

This HaBO is from Alexion, who is looking for a historical romance: I don’t remember a whole lot about this book, but I do remember that I picked it up in a library somewhere between 2010 and 2014. Don’t remember anything about the cover or title. The guy is an appointed executioner by whatever governing body controls the area. Thought it might be Gallow’s Pole by Eris Adderly because it fit a lot of the … Continue reading HaBO: Hero is an Executioner →

The Awakening by Nora Roberts is $2.99! This is book one is what I believe to be her latest series and looks to be a blend of contemporary fantasy and romance. I was eh on the Chronicles of One series, but still bought this one in hardcover when it came out. Have you read it?

Hark and LO, bitchery! It is I, your intrepid fantasy romance correspondent, delighted to inform you I have found a winner. The Shadow and the Sun is a fun, sexy, pretty well-written, and unabashedly FANTASY romance novel. The setup is this: in a medieval-ish fantasy world called Quoregna, a warrior woman named Halina, who is the bastard daughter of the king of Ursinum, is charged with a mission to convince a reclusive wizard, the Shadow … Continue reading The Shadow and The Sun by Monica Enderle Pierce →

How the Word is Passed by Clint Smith is $4.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal, a newish release, and was mentioned either on Hide Your Wallet or Whatcha Reading. This isn’t a bad price for a current bestseller, especially if you don’t want to pay full hardcover price or wait for a library hold to come in.

In this second chance romance, the food is more memorable than the love story. After reading First Love, Take Two, I was left feeling vaguely annoyed at the happy couple. But I also wanted to eat my way through Houston. Daniel and Preeti were each other’s first loves, until she let his wealthy Black parents, and her prejudiced Desi aunties, break them up. Preeti has weathered the ostracism and gossip in her close-knit Hindu community … Continue reading First Love, Take Two by Sajni Patel →

The Firebird by Susanna Kearsley is $2.99 and a Kindle Daily Deal. During our RITA® Reader Challenge reviewer Malin gave it a B+, saying, “It’s a big book, which takes its time to reveal all its secrets, and I especially loved the sections set in St. Petersburg, which I was lucky enough to visit about five years back. This book really made me want to return.”
