RECOMMENDED: Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen is $1.99! This is part of today’s 10-pages of fantasy and paranormal Kindle Daily Deals! I would liken this book to women’s fiction with a magical realism slant. It’s heartwarming and beautiful. I even wrote a Keeper Shelf squee for it; that’s how much I love this book.

Welcome to Book Beat! Book Beat aims to highlight other books that we may hear about through friends, social media, or other sources. We could see a gorgeous ad! Or find a new-to-us author on a list of underrated romances! Think of Book Beat as Teen Beat or Tiger Beat, but for books. And no staples to open to get the fold-out poster.

Clanlands by Sam Heughan and Graham McTavis is $1.99! This is also part of today’s Kindle Daily Deals. This is a mix of travel writing and Scottish history. I’m sure it’ll appeal to Outlander fans as well!

My guest this week is Nalini Singh! I have reader questions from our Patreon community and publicist and past podcast guest Erin Galloway about Archangel’s Light, Nalini’s latest release. We cover writing multiple series at the same time. We also talk about fan art, which she absolutely loves, and about reading slumps – and how to escape them. Thank you to Ann, C, Varian, and Erin for the questions!

Sweet on You by Carla de Guzman is $1.99! This is the first book in The Laneways series and de Guzman’s books I feel skew more new adult. A few of her titles have also been reviewed favorably on the site and this one in particular was mentioned in a Hide Your Wallet.

There was no recap last week because it was The Men Tell All special, which is two hours of men yelling over each other and I no longer have energy for that in my life. I did have it playing in the background and these were the only notable things that happened: Peter had Will served with papers on stage because he’s claiming will defamed his pizza business. 2. Martin maybe had a girlfriend while … Continue reading Elyse Watches The Bachelorette–S18 E9: Horse Budget →
This Rec League comes from Jessi. Thanks, Jessi! I know this might not be what other people are looking for right now, but I have been devouring post apocalyptic romances and I need more to feed the beast. So far, I’ve read everything by Kit Rocha, Claire Kent’s Last Light, Alysa Cole’s Radio Silence trilogy and most recently Kat Bostick’s Moonshine. I don’t care what type of apocalypse it is, and I really don’t need … Continue reading The Rec League: Post Apocalyptic Romance →
Welcome back to Wednesday Links! First off, thank you for all your kind messages from last week! Sarah and I recently had our end of the year check-in. (She’s a wonderful boss, by the way, and I mean it.). She always asks me to come prepared with what things on the site I’ve enjoyed this year. I named this post because we’ve created such a nice little community in the comments and it’s been a … Continue reading Links: Dryers, Jorts, & More →

RECOMMENDED: For the Love of April French by Penny Aimes is 99c! I didn’t review this one here, but I did for another site. I loved this one so much. It was so sweet and tender. I’d say this is more of a character-focused BDSM romance, than one that has a ton of BDSM scenes. I gave it a star over at Bookpage.
