Julie Garwood’s latest book, Grace Under Fire, is out now, and I got to chat with her about her writing career, her process, and writing historicals and romantic suspense. Grab a snack and a beverage and come visit with one of the authors I admire most. (No, my inner 13 year old was not chill. Not even a little.) … Music: Purple-planet.com Thank you to Julie Garwood, and thank you to Stephanie Felty for setting … Continue reading 520. Telling Stories with Julie Garwood →

It’s time for The Bachelorette! Will the producers pit the women against each other? Is Logan still holding the chicks? Let’s find out! Also back by popular demand is Lady Pudding. I apologize for omitting her from the last recap. She’s doing great and gave me this look when I told her what we are watching. TW: OMG you guys, SO MANY. That Time I Got Drunk And Saved a Demon is a mood, people. This book is impossible for me to grade – either you are down for it or you aren’t. But personally, I rather enjoyed this bonkers story about a woman whose family owns and operates a cinnamon farm, the demon she rescues, and the false goddess they team up to take down. You should be able to … Continue reading That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon by Kimberly Lemming →
Hey all! It’s Wednesday! Come on in! I went to the Cape with my partner last weekend and just had the loveliest time. I met their aunt, ate some good food, and got some sun on these gams. The weather was perfect and we got to hang out with an old black lab named Jack. I’ve also undertaken a recent project. I’m growing herbs! I planted the seeds into little pots yesterday and have them … Continue reading Links: Anthologies, Fabio, & More →

RECOMMENDED: Accidentally Engaged by Farah Heron is $2.99! Kiki reviewed this one and gave it an A-:
I cannot emphasize enough how hungry this book will make you.
Accidentally Engaged might be my top pick for “don’t read while hungry.” Between our heroine Reena’s bread baking (there’s rye, there’s challah, there’s an ongoing battle with a sourdough starter) and her Indian and East African cooking, I was craving a feast pretty much the whole time I was reading this book.

This HaBO comes from AW, who wants to find this romance they read a couple months ago: The male main character is running for office (I think senate) and he wants the endorsement of the female main character who runs a community center type place. His opponent in the election has already tried to get the female main character’s endorsement and failed. I remember the male main character not being completely honest about him wanting … Continue reading HaBO: Hero Wants Heroine’s Campaign Endorsement →

RECOMMENDED: Payback’s a Witch by Lana Harper is $1.99! Ellen gave this one a B:
Overall, this book had many strong elements, with a few minor missteps. I think you pretty much get what you expect in terms of a relatively light, atmospheric, sexy sapphic romance perfect for spooky season. If there are additional series entries, I will absolutely be reading them.
