The Duke Buys a Bride by Sophie Jordan is $1.99! This is book three in The Rogue Files series. The shortcoming in this book seems to be the hero, whose redemption arc and groveling don’t seem to meet expectations. However, others loved the heroine’s tenacity and persistence in the face of some awful things.

This HaBO comes from Michigander, who hopes to find this historical romance: Historical Romance set in England or Wales…believe the area has hills or cliffs. Set at Christmas time. Begins with a woman riding in a carriage…planning to apply/take a position as governess or housekeeper to a reclusive man with two children .I think both children are boys. (She had heard of the position just as she was getting ready to flee town…maybe London.) Woman … Continue reading HaBO: New Governess Decorates for Christmas →
One of my favorite movies as a kid was The Creature from the Black Lagoon and I always felt bad for The Creature. Sea Creatures Prefer Redheads played into that nostalgia wonderfully. Opal Prince is a costume designer and make-up artist for Neptune pictures in 1947. She’s the genius behind Kel, the monster in The Kelp-Dweller from Fathoms Below. Kel is a mishmash of her own forbidden monstrous fantasy and her secret crush on the … Continue reading Sea Creatures Prefer Redheads by Brianne Gillen →

Sometimes, instead of snarking at covers, we like to compliment them! Cover art by Leni Kauffman From lg: I love this cover. I don’t know what it is exactly but every time I look at it I notice something else and I have to smile. I love the colors overall, the depth with the city in the background and the movement of the curtain, the pointed toe shoes matching her bustier, the headband I want … Continue reading Cover Awe: Leni Kauffman Strikes Again! →

American Royalty by Tracey Livesay is $2.99! This is a contemporary romance with a royal hero and famous singer heroine. I personally love the cover, but I know on Cover Awe, some felt it had “uncanny valley” vibes.

If you like colorwork and making socks, then Charming Colorwork Socks is a must buy for you. This book contains 25 adorable patterns, including holiday themes, animals, and my personal favorite: coffee socks. Most of the patterns involve only working with two colors at the same time, so it’s ideal for colorwork beginners who don’t want to manage too many strands at once. There isn’t much in the way of tutorials in the book, although … Continue reading Charming Colorwork Socks by Charlotte Stone →

Happy Endings by Thien-Kim Lam is $1.99! This is a contemporary romance that was mentioned on a previous Hide Your Wallet. Elyse was interested in the heroine’s business running a sex toy company, while Ellen noticed there’s a lot of great tropes.
