A Haunted History of Invisible Women: True Stories of America’s Ghosts is so much more than the book I thought I was getting. This book tells a lot of ghost stories, but it is also an examination of why so many ghost stories are by and/or about women and what they say about our culture and history. It’s also a critique of the business of Ghost Tours, demonstrating how they can exploit historical suffering at … Continue reading A Haunted History of Invisible Women: True Stories of America’s Ghosts by Leanna Renee Hieber and Andrea Janes→
Hey, everyone! Did you know it was Wednesday? Tomorrow is Thanksgiving in the U.S. A week or so ago, I asked for some dessert suggestions. Thank you so much! I think I’m going with a chocolate mousse this year and pairing it with a cinnamon whipped cream. The mousse I’ll be making this afternoon, just so I have one less thing to do tomorrow. My partner and I also made fancy dinner reservations for the … Continue reading Links: Mascots, Artists, & More→

My Lady Notorious by Jo Beverley is $3.99! This is the first book in the Malloren series and features a heroine who disguises herself as a man. I feel like this is one of those books that readers have really fond memories of reading. Do you? I’m ashamed to say that I haven’t read any Beverley titles, but I’ve always been curious about this one.
This HaBO comes from Sophie, who wants to find this contemporary romance: I’m hoping you can help me find a book I’m dying to re-read. The book is a contemporary romance about a pro (or ex pro??) baseball player who goes to a remote island in Ireland (or maybe it’s Scotland??) to recover from his alcohol (or maybe drug?) addiction. He falls for the woman who is replacing the local doctor. At one point they … Continue reading HaBO: Baseball Player Goes to Ireland/Scotland for Rehab→
Any Rogue Will Do by Bethany Bennett is $1.99! This is book one in the Misfits of Mayfair series and features a fake relationship. Book two was recently featured in an edition of Cover Awe. I’m actually pretty curious about this series, if anyone has read it and would like to share their thoughts.
Crystal Anne With An E comes to us from a sunny clime, though she is an indoor cat that prefers to remain pale. She is an autism consultant by day, and recently completed a degree in information science, mostly because she could and it was fun. She likes to read (obviously), watch TV while cross-stitching something geeky, play video games, beg her plants not to die in the hell heat of summer, and walk while … Continue reading Guest Post: The Library Advisory Board, or How I Didn’t Throw Away My Shot→

The collection was very popular and more than a few of you asked about purchasing some. The yarn collection had been available for pre-order and the pre-order period had ended, BUT! I just got an email from Nakia who says… “…this Saturday [19 November] at 10am Pacific: all of the extras from the Romancelandia collection [will be available … Continue reading Romancelandia Yarn!
