Books on Sale: Say You’re Sorry by Karen Rose & More

RECOMMENDED: Say You’re Sorry by Karen Rose is $1.99! Carrie, who is not normally a romantic suspense reader, was tempted by the setting of Sacramento. She gave it a B+:

In general I don’t think Romantic Suspense will ever be my favorite genre, but I certainly found this example to be emotional and gripping, and it did a good job of including romance without making me feel that the violence was being used as some sort of adrenaline-providing backdrop.

Book Review

The Stand-Up Groomsman by Jackie Lau

The Stand-Up Groomsman

The follow-up to Donut Fall in Love is an opposites-attract romance with a deeply introverted heroine and a larger-than-life hero. Although it can be read as a standalone, I enjoyed revisiting characters from the first novel. While I loved the romance, the depictions of the hero’s job fell flat, sometimes pulling me out of the story. Quiet, reserved Vivian Lao is going to be a bridesmaid in her roommate Lindsay’s wedding to actor Ryan Kwok. … Continue reading The Stand-Up Groomsman by Jackie Lau

HaBO: A Latex Suit

This HaBO comes from Rikki, who wants to find the first erotic novel they read: This book was amazing, the first erotica I ever read. I think it was published in the 90s and had a hot pink cover. It was about a woman named Alexandra (I think that was her name), who was working in an ad agency (or something like that). She was supposed to bag a new account and was sent to … Continue reading HaBO: A Latex Suit

Books on Sale: The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde & More

RECOMMENDED: The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde is $1.99! I loved this fantasy novel and highly recommend it to readers who love the classics. Admittedly, the book does take a while to get into as you try to settle into the world building, but I think Fforde eventually finds his footing and the following books in the series just get better.

Our Favorite Reads of 2022

Once again, I challenged our reviewers to pick their favorite (only one!) book they read this year. It didn’t necessarily have to be a 2022 release. I loved seeing which book they all selected and hearing about what made it so good for them. Surprisingly, there wasn’t too much hemming and hawing about selecting just one. Here are our favorites of the year! We’d also love to hear about your best read of 2022!
