RECOMMENDED: Say You’re Sorry by Karen Rose is $1.99! Carrie, who is not normally a romantic suspense reader, was tempted by the setting of Sacramento. She gave it a B+:
In general I don’t think Romantic Suspense will ever be my favorite genre, but I certainly found this example to be emotional and gripping, and it did a good job of including romance without making me feel that the violence was being used as some sort of adrenaline-providing backdrop.

The follow-up to Donut Fall in Love is an opposites-attract romance with a deeply introverted heroine and a larger-than-life hero. Although it can be read as a standalone, I enjoyed revisiting characters from the first novel. While I loved the romance, the depictions of the hero’s job fell flat, sometimes pulling me out of the story.
