HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: A Lady for a Duke by Alexis Hall is $1.99! Not sure if this is a leftover KDD from yesterday, so snap this one up if you can. Shana reviewed this one and gave it a Squee grade:
Many of the book’s themes are around friendship–loving a friend but hiding parts of yourself, learning to connect with other women, and the perils of competitive friendships. I loved A Lady for a Duke, it’s a must-read for historical romance fans looking for a new take on Regency friends-to-lovers.

This Rec League comes from Maggie: I’m looking for recommendations for contemporary romances that have fitness training, especially running and especially with amateurs or beginners, as central to the plot or subplot. I read a few last year and found they really inspired me to take up running again after time off for physical therapy. Now at New Year’s I’m looking to hack my motivation for working out and I’d love to add some more … Continue reading The Rec League: Fitness & Running →
Hello, all! How are we?! I honestly feel like I can’t remember what I’ve been up to. I’m in the midst of that allergy haze. Toast is slowly settling. He’s hiding less, which feels like a good sign! My partner and I finished the tutorial scenarios of Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion, which took longer than expected. However, I really enjoyed it and I’m eager to get into the real campaign. Some other highlights: I made … Continue reading Links: Quizzes, Stunts, & More →

RECOMMENDED: Battle Royal by Lucy Parker is $1.99! Catherine gave this one an A-:
I loved Battle Royal. While it did have minor flaws, it more than made up for them with humour, tenderness, and food porn.

Help A Bitch Out - SOLVED!

This HaBO is from Jesi, who wants to track down a paperback they read: The book was a random paperback but it was amazing and I re-read it so many times. This is what I remember: – Heroine’s name is Hazel and she is American. At the start of the book she’s on holiday in Europe where she meets… – The hero, whose name is Marcus. He’s rich and handsome (of course) and I think … Continue reading HaBO: Maple Syrup & Baseball →

For the Love of the Bard by Jessica Martin is $1.99! This is a contemporary romance with a second chance aspect. It definitely seems like there’d be interest if you like Jen DeLuca’s ren faire romances. I believe this is a debut and the first in a series, with a second book out soonish.

I adored Something Wild and Wonderful, a sweet romance between two men who meet while hiking the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). I thought it was a beautifully written, funny, warm, touching, empowering, and sexy grumpy-sunshine story. However, certain aspects of the book might make it a “love it or hate it” read. Readers should be prepared for discussion of homophobia in the context of coming out, and for one on-page instance of vocal homophobia. Sometimes … Continue reading Something Wild and Wonderful by Anita Kelly →
