This Rec League comes from Anne, who wanted a part two of audiobook recommendations. Our previous audiobook Rec League dropped in 2016! I am an avid audiobook listener and am always searching for new narrators. I know that you posted a couple Rec League requests about audiobooks, but the most recent one that I found was from 2016 and I wondered if you would consider an updated Rec League request for audiobooks. It turns out … Continue reading The Rec League: More Audiobook Recs
Welcome back to Wednesday Links! What’s new with me? I’m sick! Have a sore throat that I’m definitely not loving and doing everything I can to soothe it. We also have a long weekend here in the States for the 4th of July. Boston definitely goes all out, but I will be staying inside, cranking my AC, and probably playing Power Wash Simulator (there’s a new Spongebob Squarepants DLC dropping tomorrow!) How are you all doing? … Continue reading Links: Drag Queens, Horror, & More

The American Roommate Experiment by Elena Armas is $1.99! I know her previous book The Spanish Love Deception got a lot of buzz, but I know little about this one. Have you read it?
I listened to this book, which I definitely recommend because it is about 6 hours, and it’s read by the author. She’s a comic and writer so her timing and delivery are terrific. This book is part memoir and part advice on how trauma and childhood insecurity can interfere with your friendship-making and -keeping skills. It’s also about how to identify ways to evaluate and keep good friendships. Important: The book isn’t really about going … Continue reading You Will Find Your People by Lane Moore

RECOMMENDED: Something Wild and Wonderful by Anita Kelly is $2.99! Carrie read this one and gave it an A-:
I adored Something Wild and Wonderful, a sweet romance between two men who meet while hiking the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). I thought it was a beautifully written, funny, warm, touching, empowering, and sexy grumpy-sunshine story.
This HaBO is from DK, who wants to give this DNF another try: All I remember is in the beginning of the story, the heroine was at the airport waiting for her flight and she was talking to either a waiter or bartender. There was a man, who was a stranger to her, and they started talking, having a drink together, and flirting. Right after that, they ended up having sex/making out in one of … Continue reading HaBO: Making Out at the Airport

The Duke Gets Even by Joanna Shupe is $1.99! This is book four in the Fifth Avenue Rebels series. I loved the intimacy in the last couple covers of this series. Have you read all four? What do you think?
I mentioned this book in a recent edition of Whatcha Reading? and said, I have started A Most Agreeable Murder and it is extremely silly and absurd and I’m turning pages. Or pressing a button to do so, whatever. There are glowing, I presume bioluminescent, frogs. Their glowy slime is likely used for face cream to create a similarly glowy complexion. These frogs are unique to the town and make a lot of noise. I … Continue reading A Most Agreeable Murder by Julia Seales
Welcome back to Cover Snark! From Susan: WHAT are they looking at??? Is it… is it… his PEEN????? Sarah: “You dropped your puck.” Whatever it is they’re both looking at it. Tara: The guy on the left looks like he’s about to say “I’ve told you already. I am not a doctor.” Sneezy: “Okay, but, does it look like I need to go see one? Do you think the colour’s weird?” Tara: Or, “Nice Line… … Continue reading Cover Snark: Great Reader Submissions
