This HaBO is from DK, who wants to give this DNF another try: All I remember is in the beginning of the story, the heroine was at the airport waiting for her flight and she was talking to either a waiter or bartender. There was a man, who was a stranger to her, and they started talking, having a drink together, and flirting. Right after that, they ended up having sex/making out in one of … Continue reading HaBO: Making Out at the Airport →

Let’s all celebrate the last release week in June! It’s a doozy. I also noticed that some books originally on our list got pushed back by a month or two. This time, we have historical romances, wild sounding mysteries, and some popular contemporary romance releases.

The Duke Gets Even by Joanna Shupe is $1.99! This is book four in the Fifth Avenue Rebels series. I loved the intimacy in the last couple covers of this series. Have you read all four? What do you think?

I mentioned this book in a recent edition of Whatcha Reading? and said, I have started A Most Agreeable Murder and it is extremely silly and absurd and I’m turning pages. Or pressing a button to do so, whatever. There are glowing, I presume bioluminescent, frogs. Their glowy slime is likely used for face cream to create a similarly glowy complexion. These frogs are unique to the town and make a lot of noise. I … Continue reading A Most Agreeable Murder by Julia Seales →
Welcome back to Cover Snark! From Susan: WHAT are they looking at??? Is it… is it… his PEEN????? Sarah: “You dropped your puck.” Whatever it is they’re both looking at it. Tara: The guy on the left looks like he’s about to say “I’ve told you already. I am not a doctor.” Sneezy: “Okay, but, does it look like I need to go see one? Do you think the colour’s weird?” Tara: Or, “Nice Line… … Continue reading Cover Snark: Great Reader Submissions →

Hello, everyone! It’s time to Get Rec’d! I feel like I’ve been getting more recommendations (or in search of!) lately than giving out, but that’s the way it works out sometimes. (Aside: if you have any sexy, rompy underrated historical romances with enemies or rivals, please send them my way. I’ve exhausted all the obvious choices and I want something more recently released.) There’s a couple non-fiction recommendations in this bunch, as well as some … Continue reading Get Rec’d with Amanda – Volume 45 →
Welcome back to Whatcha Reading! We’re wrapping up June with our second Whatcha Reading post of the month. Lara: After a string of DNFs, I’ve resorted to an author I can trust and so far it’s solid: The Last Close Call by Laura Griffin. Her work isn’t going to give me Good Book Noise but I can relax into this book and trust her to deliver a good story. Claudia: I just finished We Could … Continue reading Whatcha Reading? Yinka, Where is Your Huzband? by Lizzie Damilola Blackburn is $1.99! I mentioned this on a previous Get Rec’d. It’s a funny, women’s fiction and I’ve been using it as a gateway recommendation to get people closer and closer to reading romance.

Come As You Are: The New Science That Will Transform Your Sex Life is interesting and informative. It’s a solid Sex 101 book. I learned some new things from reading it and I got a better understanding of some things that I kinda sorta knew but didn’t fully understand. I also found it entertaining and accessible, and very body and sex positive. The book consists of the main text, which explains different concepts and elements … Continue reading Come As You Are by Emily Nagoski →

Melanie Hamrick is a former ballerina at the American Ballet Theatre and has just released her debut romance, First Position. So we are talking about ballet, and about balancing – both on your toes, and in career changes. We also cover how much writing and ballet have in common. We are talking about professional ballet, so there is some mention of disordered eating and extreme body consciousness. Music: purple-planet.com
