An Unconditional Freedom by Alyssa Cole is $1.99! This is the third book in Cole’s The Loyal League series, and came out this February. Reviews on Goodreads seem divided on whether this one was the best in the series, or didn’t live up to the first two. If you’ve read it, what do you think?

This Rec League comes from Will. Thanks, Will! I’m looking for a recommendation of a queer romance novel (ideally f/f or m/m or trans) with great side characters. I’d love a book with the feeling that the side characters have their own lives and their own stories. Bonus points if they don’t ship the main couple, get bored when the main character talks about their love life or are so occupied with their own problems … Continue reading The Rec League: Queer Communities →
Hey, everyone! It’s Wednesday! Let’s all take a collective break, breathe deep, and enjoy some links. I am reporting deep in boob sweat central. It’s rough out here! If you’re with me, I definitely recommend Mega Babe’s Bust Dust. They also make my favorite thigh anti-chafing stick for when I wear shorts. For dresses, I love my Jockey slip shorts. How are you staying cool? And if you’re in a completely different season, how are … Continue reading Links: Dogs, Ink, & More →

Never Cross A Highlander has a one-click cover. Black Highlander stories are rare, and I’m glad this one offered some of the adventure and steam that dreamy cover promised. The book is slow in the middle, but there are swordfights, forced proximity while camping, sex by a waterfall, a hellion heroine, and a hard-headed hero who needed his family to tell him that he was in love. Here’s the book’s description: Ailsa Connery has waited … Continue reading Never Cross A Highlander by Lisa Rayne →

RECOMMENDED: The Dry by Jane Harper is $2.99! I read this after Elyse’s review and found it to be a quick read. Elyse really enjoyed this mystery and gave it an A in a Lightning Review, there is a content warning though:
The Dry is an excellent, solid mystery. I loved the setting of a rural community struggling through a drought that sets everyone on edge and amplifies tensions.

This HaBO comes from JoAnn, who is hoping to find this older Harlequin title: I’m hoping HABO can help. I have put in as much detail as I can remember: This was a Harlequin romance written 1960-1980 and takes place in contemporary Spain. An English girl travels to Spain and marries a Spanish lord/landowner. I don’t remember if it was arranged or due to being discovered in compromising situation. Neither one was in the medical … Continue reading HaBO: Vintage Harlequin Help →

It’s a doozy of a release week! There are lots of contemporary romances coming out, but some fantasy and sci-fi novels on our to-read and to-buy piles. A few of you have already mentioned some of these in the comments! What books are you excited for this week? Tell us all about them!

Spells for Forgetting by Adrienne Young is $1.99! This is Young’s adult debut and is a fantastical and dark, small town mystery with a hint of romance. I thought for sure I had mentioned this one before, but nope!

It’s Cover Snark time! From Kerri: I saw this cover and was immediately uncomfortable. And the longer I looked at it, the more uncomfortable I got. Either her body is made of cloth, or his body ends at his chest. Sarah: “Oh! How bendy!” Elyse: Is that the “surprise” in surprise dukes? Sarah: Or maybe it’s tickly beards that are the surprise? Lara: Her foot seems too big in comparison to the rest of her … Continue reading Cover Snark: Apologies to Jake Gyllenhaal →
