There’s nothing that celebrates summer quite like finding the perfect beach read, especially if that book happens to be a queer romance. This month’s post is heavy on romantic reimaginings, which are a personal favorite, but Slather on that SPF, get an extra twist of lime in your drink of choice, and treat yourself to one of these romantic rainbow delights!

I’ve Got My Duke to Keep Me Warm by Kelly Bowen is $1.99! This is the first book in the Lords of Worth series and it was mentioned in a guest post on “feminist favorites.” Bowen has recently released a couple historical fictions, but I’d love to see a return to historical romance.

There are two things that you need to know about me at the moment. I’ve never done a reading challenge in my life. I’m in a comfortable, if stuck, reading rut. Here’s the outline so far… Duration: August to December 2023 Goal: Collecting as many countries as … Continue reading Sailing the Seven Seas of Love: Lara’s International Reading Challenge →
It’s time! Please, please: tell me what you’ve discovered in your reading subscriptions! If you’ve got any of the subscription services like Scribd, Kindle Unlimited, or Kobo Plus, I want to know what your latest discovery is. Welcome back to Wednesday Links! I’m currently on a social interaction hiatus and wow, does it feel great not to make plans for a while. I’m also not as motivated to leave my home when it’s above 85 degrees. No, thank you! In monumental news, our shy Toast (the cat we adopted in May who was rescued from a hoarding situation) walked up to my hand and gave it a sniff. It’s the first time … Continue reading Links: 90s TV, Strikes, & More →

RECOMMENDED: We Sold Our Souls by Grady Hendrix is $2.99! In fact, a few of Hendrix’s horror novels are on sale right now. Carrie read this one and gave it an A-:

She works as an autism consultant by day, got a degree in information science for fun, and currently serves on her local library advisory board. … Sometimes, you find the right book at the exact right time. RECOMMENDED: The Boxing Baroness by Minerva Spencer is $2.99! Carrie reviewed this and gave it B+:
The more grounded in history the novel was, the more I liked it. For instance, I enjoyed seeing how Marianne trained every day. However, people with more patience for plot than I will love the same increasing complications that just made me want to take a nap. There’s something here for everyone and I look forward to the next book, The Dueling Duchess.

This HaBO is from Nakiya, who is looking for this romance: I believe the book started off with the heroine being in a coffee shop. She see’s the hero and he’s looking at her too. She doesn’t anything. I don’t remember if he puts a card in a bowl (like a jar or bulletin board where people put their business cards). And I don’t remember if they interacted or not, but and the end of … Continue reading HaBO: She Finds Out He’s an Escort →
