RECOMMENDED: Codename Charming by Lucy Parker is $1.99! This could be a leftover KDD from the weekend. Lara gave this a B and liked it better than I did:
Overall I liked this book, though some parts were much more swoony than others, especially as the tension between them became mostly me, the reader, waiting for one of them to admit their feelings to the other already. While the waiting part wasn’t my favourite, the emotional development and vulnerability between Pet and Matthias was delicious.

Witch King by Martha Wells appears to be a KDD for $2.99! Carrie reviewed this and gave it a B+ saying:
It’s also worthy of note that even though I didn’t grasp the big picture here, I still wrote “who WE are fighting” not “who the characters are fighting.” It’s one of those Freudian slips that indicates how quickly I became attached to the main character, Kai, the Witch King, a person who, when referred to as a demon, grumbles, “You idiot. I’m THE demon.”

A special bonus Hide Your Wallet! I met Dr. Jodi McAlister in Australia a bunch of years ago, and I knew she was writing a series inspired by The Bachelor and The Bachelorette – which, y’all, the Australian version is allegedly extremely good. Jodi has recapped that series for BookThingo. Since I follow Jodi on various social medaes, I knew she’d released Here for the Right Reasons, but it was only available in Australia. Oh, … Continue reading Jodi McAlister’s Bachelor-Inspired Series Available in the US for a Limited Time! →
It’s our last Whatcha Reading of 2023! Can you believe it?! Here’s what we’re reading right now: … Sarah: I started the The Jinn-Bot of Shantiport and it is terrific so far. Shana: I just finished Love in the Liner Notes by Katta Kis. It gave me a taste for angst so I’m reading Unnatural Fate by JR Gray. It’s a m/m fated mates romance between a werewolf and a vampire on opposite sides of … Continue reading Whatcha Reading? December 2023, Part Two →

CW: In the author’s words: ‘mild, non-graphic sexual harassment of both a female employee and a child’ More on that in the review though. I hadn’t intended on reviewing this book. I absolutely devoured Half a Soul and this book was set in the same world, so I planned a few happy evenings of returning to that world. Perhaps my memories of Half a Soul aren’t accurate, but I didn’t expect to have my feelings … Continue reading The Witchwood Knot by Olivia Atwater →
