Savvy Sheldon Feels Good as Hell by Taj McCoy is $2.99! This was mentioned on a previous Hide Your Wallet. I thought we had a review of this one, but maybe I’m just remembering Shana talking about it in our Slack channels.

CW: Graphic violence, blackmail, sexual harassment, and mind control If I had to pick one word to describe Throne of the Fallen, it would be ✨ decadent ✨. A second choice would be indulgent. It has the seven deadly sins in corporeal form, a journey through a seductive fantasy world, and it’s incredibly horny. It also reminded me delightfully of early 2000s paranormal romances, with its borderline corny details and powerful supernatural hero and plenty … Continue reading Throne of the Fallen by Kerri Maniscalco →
This Rec League request comes from Varian in the SBTB PatreonDiscord. Their request: I’d like some romances without an act 3 breakup. Amanda: Note that I guess this could mean spoilers for certain books, so FYI before reading further. Sarah: Courtney Milan doesn’t like 3rd act breakups. Shana: I love those books so I can’t wait to see what the Bitchery comes up with for this one. Ana Maria and the Fox doesn’t have a … Continue reading The Rec League: No Third Act Breakups →
Welcome back to Links! I don’t know if it’s the fact that January and February in New England is unpleasant, but I am so sleepy and all I want to do is nap beneath my electric blanket. At first, my New Year’s resolution was to complete a puzzle a month. I thought that’d be easy to do! However, the lighting in my dining room is pretty dim and poor. It makes doing a puzzle anytime … Continue reading Links: Horses, the Hugo Awards, & More →

The Duke Gets Even by Joanna Shupe is $2.99! This is book four in the Fifth Avenue Rebels series. I loved the intimacy in the last couple covers of this series. Have you read all four? What do you think?

Escaping Mr. Rochester is not the book I hoped for but it’s OK. This is a YA retelling of Jane Eyre. If you’ve been reading SBTB for awhile, you know that Jane Eyre is one of my favorite books. I read it annually, and each year it gives me a new experience, ranging from comforting and empowering to deeply challenging. I liked the basic content of Escaping Mr. Rochester, but wished it delved more deeply … Continue reading Escaping Mr. Rochester by L.L. McKinney →

Stars, Hide Your Fires by Jessica Best is $2.99! Dahlia mentioned this one over the summer of July 2023 Queer Romances. Dahlia described this as a “delightful genre-mashup combines a fun space adventure, compelling mystery, and Sapphic romance laced with intrigue, betrayal, and banter.”

This HaBO comes from Linnea, who wants to find this historical romance: I have read too many romances; been reading them for fifty years so there are bound to be some I cannot find again, especially after my daughters donated most of my books to help me declutter. I have over 6k books on my kindle and have gone through them, too, and cannot find this book. I think it is part of a series. … Continue reading HaBO: Teacher Heroine Has Faery Blood →

It’s another release week! For us, this week is a bit daintier on release that are on our personal TBR piles. But half the fun is seeing what the community is excited for. I love seeing everyone trade recommendations in the comments. What releases are on your list? Tell us in the comments!

RECOMMENDED: The Monsters We Defy by Leslye Penelope is $2.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal, as are all of today’s featured sales. Sarah read this one and gave it a B:
I liked the painstaking and careful character development of the first half more than the zoomy-zoom plot of the second half, but the foundation of historical fiction and incredible detail coupled with folk magic, ghosts, and negotiating with spirits made this an exceptionally fun, absorbing, and thoughtful story.
