The Fairy Bargains of Prospect Hill by Rowenna Miller is $2.99! This one was mentioned on a previous Hide Your Wallet. It has a mix of magic and historical fiction. Did any of you pick this one up or grab it from the library?
This HaBO is from Christine, who wants to find this book based on sample she read: I downloaded a sample of this book within the last few years and I lost track of it… but I’m still thinking about it! The story is set in a pre-industrial world, but I’m not sure if it was Western European-ish or from parts further east. I don’t know if there are fantasy/paranormal elements. There’s an arranged marriage, I’m … Continue reading HaBO: She Charges His Caravan→
Happy Tuesday! Hide those wallets because we’re about to discuss new book releases hitting shelves this week! Not all of these are coming out today; some are out later in the week. Be sure to check those pub dates, just in case you’re hoping to see them on your ereader this morning. What books are you excited for this week? Let us know in the comments!
RECOMMENDED: Business or Pleasure by Rachel Lynn Solomon is $1.99! Apologies if this is a leftover deal from the weekend. Elyse reviewed this one and gave it an A:
Business or Pleasure is a sex-positive, low-conflict celebrity rom com that worked out great for me. I think a lot of readers will enjoy this book (especially the sex positivity!), but it won’t work for anyone looking for angst.
Welcome back to Cover Snark! From Sara: WTF llamas?? I couldn’t help but share this cover I stumbled across. I stopped, my jaw dropped with a stuttered “What?!?” All the other covers in this series have a dog on them…and then…Llama!!! And a very serious, lip-pursing llama. Sarah: That llama has STORIES to TELL and TEA to SPILL. Carrie: Please tell me the llama is the narrator. Sarah: If the series is Montana Secrets…how many … Continue reading Cover Snark: Suspenseful Llamas→
We have reached Volume 69 of Get Rec’d! The pinnacle of funny numbers. And now that’s it; pack it up! Just kidding, Get Rec’d will still be continuing. I actually have two romance recommendations this time that I received from others, and I wound up buying one of them. I’ve also included some topical non-fiction and a memoir about trauma. Do you have any recommendations that you’d like to pass along? Leave them in the … Continue reading Get Rec’d with Amanda – Volume 69→
I enjoyed this story a lot. It contains many of the elements that feel like a traditional Western to me – scenes of blizzards and horse-breaking, confrontations in the local saloon, slick shysters from out East come to take advantage of the locals – but the central characters buck the stereotypes in numerous ways.
Now that we’re firmly in summer, it’s time to treat yourself to some beach reads! (No beach required to enjoy this delightful mix of books taking you everywhere from Hollywood to the high seas!)
Kirsty Greenwood’s book The Love of My Afterlife is out now, and it’s bubbly and charming and funny, with a lot of emotion, so we’re going to talk all about it. We also talk about making friends as an adult, and how there’s just about every genre inside this book. There’s even a heist. This might be why it’s the Good Morning America book club pick this month – congrats Kirsty! Then I learned she’s … Continue reading 622. The Love of My Afterlife with Kirsty Greenwood→
Glitterland by Alexis Hall is $1.99! This is one of Hall’s earlier books that received a cover redesign. Not sure how I like it, honestly. I think it’d fit more if the main characters were ice skaters. This book was also in a Rec League for bipolar representation.
Greetings and salutations! I returned home from a vacation with that dastardly minx COVID, and so, this week, I am embracing the way of the potato. I shall become the potato, and I shall potato most…aaand there’s my favorite COVID symptom: I forget words. GREAT FUN. Not like I need them or anything. So, that’s how I am: POTATO. I am potato. Yup, that’s me. This year, July 4 feels super weird. Does it feel that … Continue reading Hayadoin?→
