Yep, it's true - I was so shocked I didn't know what to do next.

CW: I’m going to include the entire note from the start of the book: “Dark Restraint is an occasionally dark and very spicy book that contains abortion (off-page, historical), elements of dubious consent, non-consenual drugging, biting without prior negotiation/conversation, guns, violence, blood, child abuse and assault (historical, off-page, referenced briefly).” Gentle reader, this is a dark romance; the darkest of the series. I am, in fact, a very gentle reader and so for me this … Continue reading Dark Restraint by Katee Robert
Accidentally in Love by Danielle Jackson is $1.99! What a fun cover! I believe this can work find as a standalone, but is technically book two in the Buxom Budoir series.
This HaBO comes from Austin, who wants to find this romance: I’m looking for a contemporary romance book about two strangers who pretend to date to help a young girl in a bad foster care situation. The hero has a lot of trauma around physical touch and the heroine helps him heal. I believe he owned a tattoo shop or something and the little girl runs into it as she is running away from her … Continue reading HaBO: Fake Dating for a Foster
Jenn and the lads head to Auckland, New Zealand, which brings up so many questions regarding the Rose God. First we were filming the first night in a different McMansion, then on week two we traveled literally halfway around the world. Has the Rose God finally risen? Is there some battle being waged with a Cthulu-esque entity we don’t know about? Is Chris Harrison going to jump into a volcano to save us all? So many … Continue reading Elyse Watches The Bachelorette–S21 E4: The Sams
RECOMMENDED: Fool Me Twice by Meredith Duran is $2.99! This historical is book two in the Rules for the Reckless series. Whenever Duran is mentioned, I know many of you talk about how much you love her books and hope she returns to writing someday. Fool Me Twice was a finalist for a RITA, so we have two RITA Reader Challenge reviews. Nita G. gave it an A-, and cover snark connoisseur PamG gave it an A. Both praised the writing and the character development. Have you read this one?
Welcome back to Cover Awe! Cover design by Farjana Yasmin Amanda: I love the Lisa Frank of it all. Sarah: I remain fascinated by the specific color palette of romance covers, and the upper corner/lower corner placement of characters and things relevant to the plot, but in this case, I LOVE THE DOGS SO MUCH MY GOSH. Poodles all day! Cover art by Alex M. Amanda: I love the colors and blushing and chaos. Sarah: … Continue reading Cover Awe: Bright Colors and Spookiness
Welcome back to Get Rec’d! This is where I do a little round up of book recommendations that have piqued my interest or books that I’ve recommended to others. Have you received any great recommendations lately? Drop them in the comments!
CW: homophobia After a failed acting career in LA and a recent divorce, Mattie Belman has returned to her tiny hometown in Pennsylvania to teach theatre at the local all-girls Catholic high school. It’s weird enough that she’s thrown into the deep end of Catholicism as a Jewish lesbian, but her life gets way more complicated when the school’s arrogant soccer coach decides Mattie is her new enemy. Jillian Reed is the local hero who’s … Continue reading Loser of the Year by Carrie Byrd
