How to Become the Dark Lord and Die Trying by Django Wexler is $2.99! I mentioned this in Get Rec’d and Darlynne commented, warning of a cliffhanger but noting it was definitely worth it. If you picked up and enjoyed Long Live Evil, this may make a good read-alike.
Under Your Spell by Laura Wood is $1.99! This is contemporary romance with the daughter of a famous rockstar who doesn’t want to date any celebrities. Have you read this one?
RECOMMENDED: A Week to Be Wicked by Tessa Dare is 99c! This is the second book in the Spindle Cove series and I absolutely love it. It might be my favorite Dare, but I think I need to read this one and When a Scot Ties the Knot back to back to make a full assessment. Carrie gave this book an A-:
If you are also a person who perks up at the sound of the word “Tessellation” or who longs to travel through Britain with a viscount and a dinosaur foot, then check this book out right away.
Bookshop Cinderella by Laura Lee Guhrke is $2.99! This is book one in a series that started in Summer 2023. Book two in the series came out last summer. The heroine is a bookshop owner and this has some Pygmalion vibes.
I absolutely devoured the first two books in this trilogy. I loved the highly original premise and found both stories beyond charming. The third is more of the same, but not quite to the same heights as the first two. I would recommend avoiding this review if you haven’t read the prior two in the trilogy because it’ll be filled with spoilers. The Duke Heist by Erica Ridley is $1.99 and a Kindle Daily Deal! This is book one in a new series and was mentioned on a previous Hide Your Wallet. Elyse was super excited about the heist element and I feel like the other books in the series have been talked about positively here.
Welcome back to Whatcha Reading! Here’s how we’re closing out the month of April: Lara: I started BR Myers’ The Third Wife of Faraday House about a week ago, but I haven’t managed more than a few chapters so far. I adored a dreadful splendor so assumed I’d love this one too. I’m not quite ready to admit defeat though and will try get into it again tonight. Sarah: I have been listening to Chelsea … Continue reading Whatcha Reading? April 2025, Part Two→
