Summary:

He doesn’t know me, but he’ll die to save me.

Or at least, that’s the gist I get when I’m taken hostage by a psycho with a gun. He’d meant to take a little girl, but I couldn’t live with myself if I didn’t try to save her. Now I’m in her place instead and my captor is determined to blow it sky high unless his demands are met.

She doesn’t know me, but I owe her everything.

My daughter is my world. After I gave up my career as a Marine to move closer to be with her, I thought I would stay out of danger. And yet here I am diving right back into it.

The rush of adrenaline at a new mission is almost as enticing as the woman who saved my daughter. Getting distracted by her sharp wit and bravery is the last thing I should do, but I can’t help but be drawn to her despite the danger.

If we make it to morning, maybe I’ll work up the nerve to take the biggest risk of all…losing my heart.
