Speaking of, I imagine the video quality of this vintage commercial was influenced at some point by a VHS transfer.
This week’s Friday Video is a commercial from 18-20 years ago (it had to be on VHS, right? Or Betamax?) and it’s so subtle.

my second favorite commercial is the shorter, 100% silent Masterlock commercial. (I can’t find an example, just the older ones with the set-up.)
I can’t believe that All-Bran commercial is 20 years old. I remember the first time we saw it, my husband and I were whooping with laughter.
I’m not a huge fan of beer or beer commercials, but the old Bud Lite limo commercial still makes me smile. “First time in a limo…Doctor?”

I was a total sucker for the romantic Tasters Choice ads with the story that kept progressing over time (read more: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gold_Blend_couple). I’m not sure I can find them all, but here’s one. On a side note, I now realize the man is GILES FROM BUFFY?!?

There’s definitely something about the holiday season, although a nonseasonal ad I loved is the Ikea one about how they do product testing on their furniture. It’s known as “Mom, can I have a cookie”, won lots of advertising awards, but I couldn’t find a good video online (it’s very old).
My favorite commercials are the ones I’m in! One for a Clorox product and one for a Swiffer product. Unfortunately, I’m not legally allowed to post my copies, but I’m allowed to show them at home. Bought my dining room furniture and earned my SAG card (before it became SAG-AFTRA) from one. I checked youtube, and I can’t find any bootleg copies.
I do have some BTS photos from them. Clorox was shot near San Francisco, and they paid for my travel, hotel, food, etc… Swiffer was filmed in my home with an HGTV personality.

Can any of you folks who are better at searching find the “Why are foreign films so… foreign?” Bud dry commercial? I loved that one.

@Susan/DC, I was charmed by the foster parent advert and watched it multiple times when it came out. It was nice to remember and watch it again today.
The quality of the Ikea video IS poor, but it is exactly my sense of humor and I loved it. Thanks for sharing.
