Welcome back, everyone!
Guess what? I’m tired. Can you believe that? I also say this as I look enviously at the very cozy cat curled up in the window of my office. Just snoozing away. You can hear some soft little nose whistles. She’s oblivious to the world as I tippy type away in an effort to make a paycheck to afford her treats.
Is my jealousy coming through?
It’s also funny because our two cats have very different morning routines. Fig will wake my partner up at the crack of dawn to be fed and then will go back to sleep with them. When our official, non-kitty alarms go off, she’s ready to greet the day. Our big orange boy Toast loves to sleep in. Don’t expect to see him up for breakfast or pets until at least 10am. You can typically find him asleep and squeezed into the cat scratcher box in my office until then.
What are your pets like in the morning?

Congratulations to author Farrah Rochon, who received the 27th Louisiana Writer Award!

The Everlasting by Alix E. Harrow has been picked up for a Netflix series. Will you be watching? (Assuming this reaches the finish line.)
…
And related to adaptation news, there seems to be a pattern on what is or isn’t being picked up. Care to guess what that is?

This link was sent in by James S. and it’s about the boom of romance communities in Columbia, South Carolina. Are you a local? I’d love some “boots on the ground” thoughts.

Don’t forget to share what cool or interesting things you’ve seen, read, or listened to this week! And if you have anything you think we’d like to post on a future Wednesday Links, send it my way!

I wish those stores and community had existed when I lived in Columbia! I remember going to a screening of “Love Between The Covers” (with an author discussion afterward moderated by Sarah!) and there weren’t very many people there.
There’s also an LGBTQ+ bookstore there now called Queer Haven Books that sells, among other things, queer romance. They’re trying to secure a new shop location, so if the SBTB community could step up and order from their website to help them fund it, that would be cool.
