Help A Bitch Out

HaBO: Tech Genius with a Speech Impediment

This HaBO was sent in by Meg, who wants to find this romance:

It’s a recent book. Contemporary, possibly set in NYC or Boston.

He’s a tech genius or businessman with a speech impediment that he feels makes him unlovable. She’s the charming barista/waitress he’s pining for. She’s injured in a hit and run (possibly?) or ill and he takes her to the hospital and says they’re either engaged or married.

Help a bitch out, it’s on the tip of my brain and soooo frustrating.

This one is definitely ringing some bells for me.

I don’t think I’ve read the book you are looking for, but I’ll see what I can find. Maybe…

    – Weekend Fling by Stacey Lynn has a tech millionaire mmc with a stutter and a barista.

    – Flirting With Disaster by Ruthie Knox also has a tech adjacent mmc with a stutter, but she’s his high school crush who has recently divorced and moved home. So that’s a long shot.

It rings some bells. Something in the description reminds me of Brooklynaire by Sarina Bowen. Tech genius, woman he has been falling for hits her head on the ice and he ends up moving her in with him…

I read Brooklynaire and it doesn’t match the speech impediment detail at all. Nor is she a barista

Like C, I’ve never read it, but it really seems like Weekend Fling.

But while she may not need a man, she could use a break. And a weekend away at a California beach to clear her head? That’s appealing. Even if the offer comes from Trey Collins, the irresistible tech-mogul millionaire who visits her coffee shop every morning like clockwork—and needs a date for his best friend’s wedding. With an adorable, occasional stutter, he refuses to take no for an answer.
