SBTB will be gaining another staff member by the end of the year!
I’m officially out of the first trimester, which had a lot of gagging and all day nausea. There were times when I’d just gaze lovingly at the Taco Bell menu on Uber Eats.
We did an early blood test to determine sex and we’re very excited to know that it’s a girl. Honestly, it still doesn’t feel real and I’m surprised at the amount of joy and excitement I feel to get to know this little person when she arrives.
When my therapist asked what I looked forward to in terms of being a parent, it was seeing my child’s personality. What will be their passions and interests? A reader? A gamer? Both? Will they be an outside kid or an indoor kid? So many possibilities!
I’ve been with the site for over a decade and have been reading it much longer. The amount of milestones this community has seen me through only continue to grow. Am I crying as I write this? You know it!

Such happy news! It’s a cliche, and doesn’t sound very enlightened, but being a mom is the most fun thing I’ve ever done. It was way the heck more rewarding than my day job, although I’m now retired and have nothing but good things to say about being a grandmother of girls. Best wishes to your family!

Wishing you all the best! Children are adorable and the best entertainment systems ever invented, but they are also exhausting and frustrating and have no sympathy for your need to sleep. I felt torn between work and home but then had the revelation that I was one of the luckiest people alive to have different roles that I loved and even got paid for, either in money or hugs and smiles. So count your blessings, take as many naps as possible, and watch the little one wrap you around her little finger before she even makes it home from the hospital.
