Welcome back!
How have we all done with the snowfall? We got about two feet and my partner broke our shovel trying to break up some ice. And of course, all the local places are sold out of shovels. Fingers crossed our online order arrives before the next snow forecast.
Also, I finally read by first Cate C. Wells. Katie, who participated in the After Dark quarterly recs, gave me some suggestions on where to finally start and I did it.
The Tyrant Alpha’s Rejected Mate was a lot of fun!

This link is from Bransler in the SBTB podcast patreon discord! If you’re a nail polish fan, Atomic Polish is running a fundraiser. All proceeds of their new shade ICE Out will be donated to the Immigrant Rapid Response Fund.
I own a few bottles of Atomic Polish shades and I definitely recommend them.

I enjoyed this short video about a man who helps take care of the Snowy Owl population at Logan Airport. As someone who lives in the area, I had no clue we had so many Snowy Owls!

I’m back to enjoying the eagle cam from Friends of Big Bear Valley; famous eagle couple Jackie and Shadow currently have two eggs in the nest, so hopefully we’re in for another spring of beautiful, fuzzy eaglets.

I love that snowy owl video – thanks so much for sharing it!
From Katherine Grant’s newsletter, details of the Romance For Minnesota fundraiser. Through January 31st, $5 to the Immigrant Rapid Response Fund gives you eligibility for one of 243 prizes (books by Courtney Milan and KJ Charles among them). Details here:

Eek, I made a mistake; $10 is the IRRF minimum donation for the Romance For Minnesota fundraiser. (That was 100% my misremembering the amount and not the fault of Katherine Grant or Jane Hedley. My apologies, folks!)
I also enjoyed the Snowy Owl video, so thank you!
I remember getting THE TYRANT ALPHA’S REJECTED MATE because it was free and sounded like ridiculous, troperrific fun.
It was that, but it also had plot and character development. To my surprise and delight.
Great owl video, thank you.
I started learning about buttons to let your pets talk from Mary Robinette Kowal’s Instagram about her cat, LC speaks. Now I’m following dogs, cats, Guinea pigs, and a pig who use the talking buttons. Really fascinating and fun!
Loved the owl video. Also Mr. Smith’s accent.
Over on Whatever.com, Scalzi has postef musc videos by Springsteen and Billy Bragg about Minneapolis that gave me literal chills.
Another fan of the Big Bear Eagle Cam. I missed the actual live egg drops this year but saw the replays the same day (I have a talent for checking in when nothing much is happening–like when Sunny & Gizmo fledged last year). I used to live in L.A. and visited Big Bear for skiing and I love seeing the landscape. Maybe I’ll get lucky and see the eggs hatch this year.

@Glauke Thanks for the heads up! My quilting/sewing friend said those are very good books and authors and jumped on the deal.
(I wish there was a crochet bundle! My brain seems to be incompatible with knitting, unfortunately.)
@Amanda – so excited you gave Cate C Wells a try! As @Maite said, I picked up Tyrant Alpha because it sounded like tropey fun, but her writing and characters are so deep!
